Miele Coffee System Questions & Answers
I have a miele coffee CVA 610 system, I went thru
Your problem is mechanical one and frequent. Due to the descaling process a small part of scale deposit have moved and stuck on flow-meter of the machine. The flow-meter is a small part round in shape about 1 and half inch and one inch thick. This part usually is white teflon material and it have an in and one out silicon pipe water conection. Inside the flow-meter their is a small propeller which rotate with flow of the water thought it. Two magnets on the propeller during the rotation they send signals which the machine counts and according to the number of rounds it count the water flow in the machine. Now the flow-meter due to a small parts of scale deposits the propeller can not rotate freely thus the machine consider that the amount of water pass through is was not enough for rinsing so it give again the massage for rinse. As you realize unless you clean the flow-meter the machine will stuck to the rinse cycle.
Now you disassemble the machine and reach for the flow-meter as described above. The flow-meter can be opened by rotating the upper and lower part in apposite directions and it will be open. Now remove the propeller and brush very good and also the compartment where is resting. Check it out by blowing air with your mouth from the inlet pipe and hear the propeller if it rotate freely.
Putt all together and it will work ok again.
Here one small tip you can try before dismantle the machine and if your lucky you can save you time and trouble.
You can use again the descale soluble in the water reservoir and perform the rinse. In this way is like you perform a descale again. Try this a couple of time and if you are lucky the scale deposits might dissolved and flow out from propeller area and the machine might moved from the rinse stage.
If this happen proceed one more descale and rinse and this time with only a fresh water so your machine is rinsed out and be ready for use.

Miele coffee system cva 615.
More then likely there is nothing wrong with the water seal but simply the tank was not placed properly over the seal and water was bypassed to the reservoir. If a significant amount of water sits in the reservoir the "Water System Fault" trouble will appear and stop operation. The easiest way to remove the water from the reservoir is with an inexpensive ($5) siphon tool available at any auto parts store. Once the water has been removed and you can operate the machine and it goes through the "Warming" sequence you will receive a "Air in water System" alert. Follow the simple directions in the manual to correct this trouble and your system is back to normal. I have heard people have been charged by technicians up to $600 to fix this trouble and told the seal had to be replaced. Just take care when placing a full water tank back into place and enjoy : )
Hi. I have a miele cva4060. The grinder is
Hi
If you hear its 'grinding' then that's good - problem is where is the ground coffee going or supposed to go??
Check there is no build up of damp/dried coffee grinds in the pathway between grinder and brew unit - this can happen if the machine is not properly cleaned say every 3 mths or more often depending on usage - coffee 'dust' can build up.
Also suggest remove all beans from grinder, vacumn last ones out. clean all around grinder opening. Add a dozen or so beans to the grinder, turn on and try again. If the beans disappear, its grinding properly. If they don't end up in the brew unit, then the hold up is as I said in that pathway - grinder to brew unit. If you cant see an obvious blockage/build up, suggest you have a tech look at it.
Cheers

Miele coffee system "Fill Watertank" issue
there is a liltle floating black thing at the back of the container, this works as a magnet switch. see if it is there or is stuck and doesnt raise with the water level.

Same for my CVA 5060 : the right spout seems to be blocked...
I tried a cleaning cycle and a descaling one with no success.
Any idea of where to clean ?
Replace Water Tank
Connie .. I have a 4070 and I suspect yours is the earlier model (CVA615 ?) and so I'm not so familiar with this model. Nor have I had a water leak like this. Before you buy any parts you need to establish the source of the leak. It could the seal where the tank engages with the unit or anywhere downstream of this in the water path. Replacing the tank may be expensive and may not solve the problem.
Connie .. I have a 4070 and I suspect yours is the earlier model (CVA615 ?) and so I'm not so familiar with this model. Nor have I had a water leak like this however its likely to be an o-ring seal. Replacing the tank may be expensive and may not solve the problem. So before you buy any parts you need to establish the source of the leak. It could the seal where the tank engages with the unit or anywhere downstream of this in the water or steam path. If you're NOT TECNICALLY QUALIFIED you should call Miele and make sure the water is present when they come. I'm technically qualified and have experience working on mains voltage appliances and so I would attempt this service as follows. 1. Locate mains supply and disconnect appliance. 2. Remove appliance from kitchen unit and place on table. 3. Remove top and rear access covers taking very careful note of where each screw comes from. Note: You must replace each screw to its correct location to ensure the machine is properly earthed/grounded. 4. Remove all water from bottom of unit. 5. Re-fill water tank and leave for a day or two (no power connected). 6. If water appears at the bottom then you need to locate the source by inspecting the water path. 6. If no water appears then you know it's a problem when water is pumped around the machine or steam is generated. To test the next stage replace all covers, leave on bench, connect power and use as normal. Note: NEVER CONNECT POWER TO MACHINE WITHOUT ALL COVERS IN PLACE AND EARTH/GROUND WIRE CONNECTED. After making a couple of coffees, check to see if water has appeared in the bottom and then turn off machine, disconnect power and remove access covers. Trace the flow of water to the module or seal that is causing the leak. The above tests should pin point the source of the problem and what parts need to be replaced from Miele. Regards
Plumbed coffee system has blank screen
Strange. If the onboard computer has stopped working, first thing to try is a reboot -- the trick being, right now you can't shut it off. No matter. If the plug is inaccessible, go to your breaker box and shut it off at the breaker. Wait a minute, turn it back on, and see if it boots up correctly after that.
Need to buy water tank for miele coffee
hi,
spares are only available through Miele spare parts or their registered service agents who will probably then source the part from Miele spare parts anyway.
Why does my water container fill up even though my machine is plumbed in?
This looks like a fault. The plastic tank has two reed switches that measure 'tank empty' and 'tank half full'. When the tank is empty the inlet solenoids (there are 2 for safety) open and water enters the tank but not so much to fill the tank to the half way level. In normal operation the level water in the tank will drop and then more water is allowed in. In your case it appears the 'half full' reed switch is being activated because the solenoids are not closing off properly and water is leaking in and filling the tank. If you do not empty it then eventually it will fill and leak into the leak. The problem can be caused by either low water pressure (below 145 psi) or sticky solenoid. If is the solenoid then the Miele solution will be to replace both solenoids. Alternately you may be able to remove, take apart and clean. Also check that you have a mesh filter at connection to tap. Also you can temporarily fix the problem by turning off the water at the tap and re-programming machine to 'turn off' the plumed water line. regards
Miele 4066 Water overflowing
Yes - I agree with the above - the water tank has two magnets a low level and high level - both should move freely in the tank and float with the water level - they determine when the water solenoid is turned off and on - if stuck - it will cause the tank to overflow. If both magnets are there and they move freely - then the reed switch in the case in more than likely faulty.
Water leaking from system
take the reservoir out and set it on the counter - see if the leak is from the reservoir itself. If the leak is internal you will have to have a service tech come out. What CVA do you have?
