Hello graham_keith - Are you referring to that the igniter comes on, but the burner does not light? If that is the case, then the range possibly has a faulty igniter. Contact a professional to move forward accurately.
Hi Johnny Clinton - Usually vibration or something vibrating against another piece that it is not suppose to can caused a humming noise. Other possibility is either the electronic ignition is having issues, which in this case I would suggest contacting a professional to move forward accurately for a proper diagnoses.
