Frigidaire Stove clock resets to 12:00 when igniters turned on

local contractor came back. Said 6 other people have reported the problem according to Frigidaire.  Wasn't home so I don't know exactly what they did but they claimed to have moved some wires around.  So far no problems.  Electrical engineering friend said that they likely swapped some ground connections around so that when the ignitor draws current it doesn't drop the voltage of the whole system.  Not sure if a homeowner could troubleshoot and solve this one without directions from manufacturer.

How

Good Afternoon Friend, I understand you want to know how to turn on your Frigidaire range, model# FGF378AC. First, you will need to make sure you have set the clock, by pressing the clock button and then pressing and holding down either the up or down arrows until the correct time displays. Secondly, you will turn your oven on by pressing the "Bake" button and then pressing and holding down either the up or down arrows until the correct temperature displays. Once you release the up or down arrow, your oven should begin heating to the desired temperature. The control will beep three times, once the temperature has been reached. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful. -Best Regards- WP

sounds normal. most ranges have 2 hr (give or take) burnoff period when it is first used when it burns off any residual chemicals from factory. just make sure you've taken all plastic/packaging and wipe down the interior first.

Model FGF326ASD. Gas oven igniter glows but no gas

From what I can see on the web, all point to a weak "glow ignitor," some says that the glow ignitor can glow and sometimes can even be drawing the correct current but still not hot enough to ignite the gas. Tho one thing I don't understand is how can a ignitor range in price that much... I can find one online for $16 to $50... local appliance part stores wants $70 - $80 for it... and its not refundable...

I have frigidaire gas free standing oven

If the bake ignitor comes on (starts glowing after a few seconds) - check the amperage on the bake ignitor wires when it's on. If the ignitor is a round style - amperage should be 2.5-3A, if the ignitor is rectangular - 3 - 3.6A. If less than 2.5A or 3A respectively - replace ignitor.
Ignitor part numbers for round style ones: 4342528, WB2X9154, SGR403, 5304401265;
rectangular styles: 12400035, WB13K21, WB2X9998, SGR412, NR020, 5303935066, 814269, 9753108.
Ignitors of the same shape (i.e. rectangular) are interchangeable, if you can splice the wires.

Good luck!

Frigidaire oven wont ignite

This sounds like a weak igniter, it would have to be a gas oven and the symptoms usually are: takes longer than normal to ignite the burner, may or may not smell gas in the oven, does not maintain set temperature or burner does not come on fully, eventually won't heat at all. On gas ovens, a glo igniter is like a light bulb, the more you cook, the faster it wears out. Bottom line, needs to be replaced. Good luck.
