Canon g9 won't turn on...battery is fully charged.

These cameras short out inside from a loose screw. The place that a lot of people go for help with this problem is www.camerasandparts.com They just work on the Canon powershot models and they are wonderful for service, about half the cost of most place for about twice the service. The nice thing about them is they do a fix inside the camera so the screw problem won't happen again. They're the place for help with these, lots of luck with it.

Cannon g9 lense will not

Are you removed the battery, reinstalled it again? Wont work? Lesn mechanism stuck or internal failed; the G9 is a precision instrument. Alot users with this problem report to Canon Service (click HERE), I attached one answer and comment:

On the service sheet it said this:
Examination/Request Details:
LENS ERROR MESSAGE. LENS IS EXTENDED. CHECK ALL FUNCTIONS, REPAIR TO GOOD WORKING ORDER.

Service Details:
We have examined the product according to your request, and, it was found that the optical assembly was inoperative there was no display on the LCD. The optical assembly was replaced. Other inspection and cleaning and parts replacements wer carried out.

And the best news was the cost: $0.00. Everything is back to normal and in good working order. So, if you have the same problem that I did, I recommend going to the link I had in my first post and going through the repair process. Overall, it took 10 days to get it fixed and back in my hands.

While it was really annoying that this problem happened, I have to say that Canon was satisfactory in repairing the problem, getting the camera back to me in a decent amount of time and NOT charging me. They were also good at emailing me when they received my camera and when they had shipped it back to me (complete with 2-day delivery thru FedEx and a tracking number).

So if this happens to you, I wish you the same luck that I had!
END.

Also could check this generic procedure: Lens_Error_Support

Hope helps.

The lens will not retract

The camera is experiencing a lens error and needs to be serviced. Try restarting it a couple of times first but if that won't work, just have it serviced. The site that is great for help with these is: www.camerasandparts.com All they deal with are problems on the powershot cameras and they are wonderful if you need help with one of these. All the best with the problem, that's a nice camera.

Camera focus is not aligned, software problem

Your lens is most likely been damaged by dropping the camera or it may have gotten sand or dirt in the gears. Software is not going to affect your focus and there is no way for you to do anything with the software other than update the firmware, which will have no effect on your focus problem.

How to set up the perfect focus for shooting

I would suggest setting your white balance first by putting the camera on "P" mode, then pointing the camera at two or three pieces of white copy paper stacked on top of each other in the same spot where you will be taking the photos. Press the "Func/Set" button and then "Disp" to set the white balance.

Now put the camera in Macro mode by pressing the jog dial towards the "flower" icon and pressing "Func/Set" again.

If you can, try using a tripod to hold the camera as still as possible and then try shooting your jewelry.

Hope this helps!

The camera Canon G 9

Hi Pavel

Sorry but your camera needs to have the lens replaced. The drop onto the floor damaged it and the only way to fix it is to replace it. Wish I had better news for you.

My Canon G9 Powershot will not switch on at all.

The Canon G9 has a design defect, two screws fall out inside the camera and short out the fuse. If you've never had it fixed for no power before this is most likely what has happened to your camera.

Do a Google search for "canon g9 no power repair" and you will see a full repair service including return shipping of your camera for just $85.

Hope this helps!

I have a Canon G7 When

Unfortunately it sounds like the lens is damaged and needs to be replaced. Something as small as a couple grains of sand and jam it up, but cleaning them out (if this is the case) is a lot of labor and not easy to do! Contact Canon directly 1-800-OK-CANON and ask for repairs. They should do it for under $125, sorry I don't have a better option than that for you.

You can get a refurbished lens online, but the repair would still cost around $100, so for $25 more might as well get a new lens from Canon instead.

You most likely got a short in the camera. A great place if you need service for this model is www.camerasandparts.com All they deal with is service for the powershot models and they are not much at all pricewise. They have the G9 no power repair with the service on their site. Hopefully that will help, they are excellent for service on these particular cameras.

My canon g9 will not turn on...

Try recharging the battery fully over night and putting it back in the camera and pushing the on button. This worked for me. The battery that was in the camera when it stopped working had only taken a few pictures so it should have had a good charge. My back up battery had been recharged for a few days and left in the camera bag so it must have lost a bit of the charge as it would not power the camera up after it had failed. Give this a try and report back if you find a different solution. I am afraid this will happen again so I am still seeking answers.

MY cannon g9 lens want

Unfortunately, many cameras that fall prey to lens error problems can only be corrected by professional repair. But, here are some last resort troubleshooting steps that you can try that may correct it. They only seem to work for less than 40% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty (or repair cost approaches that of the camera), they're worth that try.
