Canon PowerShot G9 Digital Camera - Page 3 Questions & Answers
Sound levels on video go up and down
This is not at random, The camera wants to keep sound during the whole recording on the same level. so when it is getting quiet, the gain is automatically raised. When the sounds becomes to loud the gain is lowered. So only when the sound level while you are shooting stays the same, you won't have this issue.
How to unlock memory card?
SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.
Possible ccd imager or lens unit
While this sounds like it may be a bad image sensor, G9s are notorious in the repair community because the right strap lug screws come loose and short out many different parts of the circuits
Canon powershot SD1000 video playback problems
Unfortunately, no. Time-lapse video works by taking fewer frames and then displaying them at normal speed so as to give the impression of time going by faster than in reality. Thus, the camera simply hasn't recorded all the information it would have in normal mode, and there's no way to recreate that information. Think of reading just the first line of every page of a book: you'd get through it quickly, but you'd also miss some things.
Now, if you'd shot in slow-motion, then you could throw out some frames until you got to normal speed.
Back Light ribbon broken
This needs to be replaced as a unit, these are very fragile items and great care must be taken.
Broken display
I didn't think the display on the G9's flipped out but I could be wrong. If you need help with this or want to get the part, try this place:
www.camerasandparts.com All they deal with are the Canons, they'll have the part or will be able to service the camera for you. They just deal with the Canons and they are pretty much the place if you need help with a Canon.
