Change battery sansa ciip
If the MP3 player battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles and will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% and gradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR The battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the battery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced. Rechargeable batteries will fail if stored in a discharged state for long periods.
My sansa needs formating but doesnt want to format
Why does your mp3 have to formate? Any error? or the internal memoy is corrupted? If it is, I am afraid that you have to fix it by formatting. And I think that you do not want to formate it because something important must be in the mp3, and you can make a backup before formatting, anyway, you can recover data from mp3 by some recovery software after formatting if you can not make a backup. Sansa clip sandisk 2gb won't charge
I had the same problem this morning, albeit with my 8G Clip. Nothing worked -- the thing seemed dead as roadkill -- until I found a link about "forcing MSC mode." Basically, it told me to hold down the center button while plugging my Clip into my computer using my USB cable. Suddenly, boom! It's awake and alive and happy again. I'm unsure how that works, but that did it for me.

Most likely it is beyond repair. The cost of repair, if it is possible would not be worth it, put your money towards a new player and be careful with your new one.

IT FINALLY WORKS !!!!Sandisk Tech support had me do the following:- Turn it OFF- Put it in the HOLD position- HOLD the center button IN while plugging into USB port, continue to hold for 5 to 7 sec even after plugged in.At this point MY COMPUTER recognized it. And it worked. He also had me to:- go to WWW.MICROSOFT.COM- In the upper right hand search bar, type in MTP PORTING KITI did this and downloaded the first one. Now my Sansa Clip work perfect. I wish I would have talked to him last week before I returned the last one, for the same reasons. If this does not help call the 1-800 # , opt #4, and ask for GUY (yes that is really his name) out of 5 or so calls to Tech Support he is the only one who knew what he was doing, and how to actually HELP.GOOD LUCK
