My Sceptre x22wg-Gamer Monitor isn't getting any power, HELP!!!

I have two of the X22WG monitors, both dead. The power supply in this model is apperently plauged with a common error. The problem is close to the +5V and +12V output connector (Far right corner, with power plug against you). Two out of the four small caps are blown. Replace those, and it should be fine. C551 and C552.

Monitor will not power on

Hi ,

Here are steps that may help you fixing the problem. You should prepare tools and multimeter.

I'm assuming that your unit is dead set without an standby LED light and your outlet is live.1.Power cord - check the cord it might be opened (no continuity). This is due to frequent bending, pulling. 2. Power switch - check for dry joints, open contact. 3.Check the internal fuse- sometimes the fuse fail because of the power surge, replacing with new one will cure the problem, If this is the case I've advice you to use surge protector/AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulator). However if the fuse blew again this is an indication that you have a shorted parts on the power supply, you may visit the linkhttp://www.fixya.com/support/r8053361-fuse_keeps_blowing for more info. If no reaction and still the unit didn't power up then you have an open parts on the power supply.

4.If you see that the fuse is intact on the board, don't attempt to touch anything because there somefatal components stored electricity enough to hurt you with a simple mistake only.

The next steps should be done by an expert or qualified technician because isolating the problem on the power supply is technical and complicated.

Also check if your unit is under warranty before opening the back panel, it will void the warranty. Avail it because the manufacturer of your unit will fix it for free or a little charge only.

Hope it may help you.

Thanks for using fixya.

My sceptre X22WG is no longer showing white screen

Colour changes like this are either due to a failing graphics card, failing monitor or bad connection from the computer to the monitor.. with this monitor, I'd have it checked by a tv repairman

Monitor will not turn on blue light flashing

I'm having the same problem. Had the monitor for almost 2 years and everything was working fine until this week. The blue light would blink, then after an unpredictable period of time, the monitor would turn on. Seems like it needs to warm up or something. I suspect it has something to do with the capacitors not charging inside. Somewhat disappointed with Sceptre. I suppose I should be thankful that I got 2 years out of it.

Monitor will not pick up

Hi,

I am sure that this is not a plug and play monitor. You need to download an install the drivers for this monitor inorder for your operating system to understand the monitor and send signals to it.

I could have helped you in having the correct drivers downloaded if the model number was mentioned. Please check the net you would find the required drivers for the windows you are working with.

Thanks

Openin case for sceptre monitor to try and fix (no

The only tools you'll need to open up the X22's case are your hands and something like a plastic putty knife. First use your hands to pry the face plate away from the housing along one of the four sides, that is, working from the middle where resistance is lowest. After you create a gap, insert the the edge of the putty knife and forcibly slide it toward one of the corners. This will separate that portion of the face plate. Do the same for the second corner. Now one side is free. Do the same for the other three sides. After you remove the face plate you'll see 4 screws that pin the lcd panel to the housing. After you remove them, be careful not to allow too much force to pull on the cable assembly that connects the panel to the mobo. Just reach in and squeeze the little metal clamps that fasten the connector to the panel. Do not try to disconnect it from the mobo from this angle. Disconnect it from the panel. Good luck.

X22WG-gamer sceptre 22" monitor won't power on

Your monitor has 3 or 4 blown caps right next to the power plug. They are CapXon 470uf25v. Just open the back and remove the power board, desolder, and replace the 3 or 4 caps put it back together and it should go back to working. This a typical problem with the Sceptre gamer, HP1706, and the HP1903. And guess what they all have the same caps blown in almost the same place.NOTE: When seperating the case the power led is glued to the front frame. Take your time if you rush you will break a cable wire or plug.

The monitor will run fine for awhile, then the

Check the monitor's internal setup program.

Some monitors have a preset for idle timeout. Of course, as long as you're using the computer, this feature should not be activated and the timer should start over each time you perform any activity on the monitor.

If this is the problem, it should be a simple matter to turn off the time-out feature or set the time to a very high number so that it seldom (if ever) takes effect.

Moniter is not powering up.

unfortunately. This is a classic symptom of a faulty inverter board. I would suggest looking on ebay to see is there is a cheap replacement. Purchasing a new one is usually not economical these days.
