Hello there
You may not see a paper jam.
This may work for you, it has worked for many here I given this advice so gave it a try it could work for you.
Generally when this happens, something has fallen into the printer, or a piece of paper has been jammed in there.
First step, remove the ink cartridge, and turn the printer upside down and gently shake it, see if anything comes out.
If nothing goes, or you can't hear anything rattling around, get a piece of cardstock paper (60lb or heavier) and gently push this through the printer, to see if it will help push out what might be stuck in there.
And gave the rode that the ink slides on a good clean and maybe a bit oil on cloth and wipe the rod with it.
Also clean The purge unit, called a spittoon assembly in an HP, Lexmark, Caonon and other inkjet printers, is where the print head assembly parks when not in use, also its other job is to clean and make sure the print head is clean and open for printing.
That is where you'll find the print head assembly parked on top of it.
It also has an electrical pump to milk the print heads and test for ink flow.
So clean all under where the heads are parked and on IP6600D models you can take out the heads just by clipping them out, and then clean well.
Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

Change printhead in 5500
To change the printer head on the Kodak 5500 AIO printer, you will need to do the following:
To remove the old printer head,
- Power on the printer.
- Lift up the lid to expose the printer head.
- Once the printer head moves to the middle, where you can get at it, then unplug the power cord to the printer.
- Remove the ink cartridges.
- With the printer head now empty, run your finder along the underside of the top of the printer head, all the way to the left side of the printer head.
- Push up with your finger where there is some give, and the shroud that holds the printer head will release the head.
To install the new head,
- Simply put it in place, and push forward with your finger on the sticker that shows a finger pushing on a sticker, and you will hear and feel it click into place.
- Reload your ink cartridges, close the lid, plug the printer back in and you're done.
My printer does not print black. It prints color but not black.
This is only a guess but from what I have read I will say you have a bad printhead. You can email or phone Kodak for help.1 800 421 6699. If it is a printhead they will ship you one free of charge and throw in free ink also....They did for me got mine in less than 12 hours. Hope it helps you
