First thing you have to ccheck if theree is an AC output on your outlet. Then Check the Power cord of your unit. Then Check the Fuse if busted.

There is no scanning of a word document - you are scanning an image. If that image is a page with words printed on it or a picture , it doesn't mater to the scanner, to it all are pictures. So in the end you have a picture of the scanned image - in your case a picture of the page. Since you can't edit a picture with word you must convert that picture into an word document. For that you use an OCR program http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Optical_character_recognition This printer has an OCR program in it, but you must activate and guide it yourself, it won't do the job automatically. To learn how to use it launch the installed HP Solution Center from your pc, it's a part of the driver that should have been installed with it.

thats a cable usb problem ,, try to change it

This is a problem with the carriage rod. Try to lubricate the rod with a little silicon grease to make it move freely. Normally it happens after some usage that the grease provided on the rod by the company dries up. Do not put more grease as it may drop on the circuit boards.

In most cases the printer driver software can have errors while being in use or is shut down. So to reset remove your printer from the PC and uninstall the printer software. Now reinstall the printer software and then connect the Printer to be detected as a new hardware as it will be installed. Now check the printer properties to see the ink levels.
Activate head cleaning before a test is taken . Sometimes it is possible that the head is not reacting to the need of the PC command or can be an issue with ink drying or poor ink cartridge contacts.

Basically, you are going to load the paper in the very bottom tray. If you fold down the frontal tray, there should be enough space for a good stack of paper (but don't overload it!). You just put the paper in the bottom tray, and then it will feed through there and come out the tray just above it when it prints. If you need any more specific instructions, I will post a link to the HP manual on this printer. Just click on "load originals and paper" on the left, and then "load paper" and it has some good instructions with pictures. If you need any more help, just comment!

Normally the problem is that there are bad connection between the cartridges and the carriage.
try Solution 6 in the "One or both of the Check Print Cartridge lights blink" section. It will walk you through cleaning both the cartridge and carriage contacts

Hello. It sounds like the cartridges are running empty, strange that new cartridges would run empty so quickly. Depending on the cartridge number the 21 and 22 are very low capacity. you do have the option of using a 57 colour also which has approx double the capacity, but unfortunately the black is only a 190 page cartridge (according to them, real world testing has shown much less)

If the Cartridges are HP Brand jump on the phone to HP to obtain a replacement cartridge.
F.Y.I Most compatible cartridges (21 and 22) have a capacity of approx 20ml of ink, compared to HP that hold approx 6ml. I would recommended SkyWell Brand of compatibles as they have great colour and a large capactiy.

i hope there isn't any problem with your machine . i think the Drivers are not communicating with the scanner.
download the complete drivers as you haven't mentioned the Operating system your using any how click here for the driver package and software as well .i recommend HP Multi-function Basic Driver.

1.then choose the O/S (operating system )
2.download the file .
3.when download is complete . Run the file and go through Recommended settings if you understand the setting then Go for Advance settings . finish the setup and then Restart your system and Printer manually

Select "Crop to Page" before printing. Or just print as-is. Most cases it will look okay on your printout.

When the printer window pops up, click on preferences then features to enable manual two-sided printing.
