i do not have areason for why the printer continuously goes offline but there is a way to put it temporarily back online. Go to printers in the control panel. right click on d7260 and click on use printer online. This only seems to work for one or two docs before you have to repeat the process.

I've replaced the empty cartridge with a new one but printer still says the cartridge needs to be replaced, and of course won't work

you may need another print head with that error code message. I would contact HP Total Care (1800-474-6836) and check to see if your printer or print head is in warranty, and it could be replaced. Error 0xc18a0001

If you have it connected to a computer then the HP utilities should be able to show the ink levels. You can also check the printer properties in the driver for a maintenance tab that should show ink levels as well.

SET THE PRINTER TO IT'S DEFAULT SETTINGS IF YOU CAN If not I would unintal it , have a disk cleanup and a defrag then reinstall all software

You more than likely have a dryed up cartridge. Doesn't matter if it is new or not.

Power off and then power it back on. Leave it off for a couple mins then see if that helped

Just soak it without taking it apart. You our may have to put a few drops of rubbing alcohol on the end instead. I don't think the ink dissolves well in water.

Issue One of the following ink system error codes displays on the printer touch screen display: 0xc18xxxxx or 0xc19xxxxx . Solution Follow the steps below to resolve this issue.

1. Press the On button to turn the printer off.
2. Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
3. Remove all the ink cartridges.
4. Wait two minutes.
5. Plug the power cord into the back of the printer.
6. Press the On button to turn the printer on.
7. Install the ink cartridges when prompted.

If the error code does not display, the issue is resolved. If the error codes still display on the front panel, service the printer.
