Ink absorber

Instructions
    • 1 Press the printer'sicon1.png "Resume/Cancel" button when the error message appears. This should clear the message temporarily and allow you to resume normal printing.
    • 2 Turn off the printer if Step 1 did not clear the message.
    • 3 Disconnect the printer from the computericon1.png, typically a USB cable.
    • 4 Unplug the printer from the wall electrical outlet for 10 minutes, then plug it back in. Reconnect the cable between the printer and the computer.
    • 5 Turn on the printer. Your sensor settings will reset, which should eliminate the error message.
This can only be done safely once after that the printer will leak ink over what it is placed on

Cannon Printer PIXMA ip1700 Paper Jam-I

Hello and Welcome
I am Angel Bird and i will be assisting you regarding the issue

If you are facing this error their may be small bit paper jam in side
There are some "micro-sensors" that detect a paper jam. There will be tiny piece of paper, or a lump of dust, inside those sensors, thus "tripping" the sensor and saying you paper jam.

To solve it :

Open printer cover and check to make sure no paper or foreign objects obstructing the printer feeder

If you become sure that now really there is no paper, dust or foreign objects then
Turn the printer off, and disconnect the AC power-cable. Open the printer cover & now give the printer a "blow-job" by compressed air.

If the problem exist then then go to Canon authorized service facility for repair. You can also get support by Canon by phone, at 1-800-OK-CANON (1-800-652-2666)

I hope this solution was helpful for you.
Please give me token of appreciation as FOUR THUMBS it if it helps you.

Thanks & keep using FixYa

Printer not printing on paper

In most cases the printer driver software can have errors while being in use or is shut down. So to reset remove your printer from the PC and uninstall the printer software. Now reinstall the printer software and then connect the Printer to be detected as a new hardware as it will be installed. Now check the printer properties to see the ink levels.
Activate head cleaning before a test is taken . Sometimes it is possible that the head is not reacting to the need of the PC command or can be an issue with ink drying or poor ink cartridge contacts. Sometimes the power supply unit must be checked as a poor SMPS unit can deliver low voltage and cause issues to the printer function. Check all the leads and connections of the mother board , the tags to the ink cartridge. Also check the mechanical settings of the ink cartridge , if jammed or tight remove motor and manually free the drive before it is set back.

Paper feed not working correctly

I just had the same problem, was about to give up, I even had started trying to take it apart to see what was causing this malfunction. I had first followed the user manual under "paper won't load," then I started reading about other people saying that it was something lodged in there, I didn't believe it could be it, but I tried shaking the printer upside down, still nothing, still not working, then the next day I flipped the printer upside down on my lap so that the cover opens facing you, I stuck my hand into where you load the paper, and I shook real hard side to side and up and down, when I lifted it, I saw a small thumb tack on my lap, I couldn't believe it, but it was true, because I had a couple papers tacked up above my printer, not anymore, my printer is working fine now, such a relief because I was not really wanting to buy a another printer right now, though the new lexmark although a bit pricey is enticing with their proclaimed $5 ink cartridges yielding up to 500 page average. Hope this helps you. By the way don't bother trying to take it apart, its a nightmare, I almost ended up damaging it by poking at it with a flat head screwdriver in a desperate attempt to fix it myself. I am lucky right now.

Ip 1700 absober tank almost full

For now, you can resume printing by pressing Resume/Cancel. Eventually the message will change to absorber is full and stop printing. In some cases, you may need to reset the printer by 1) turn the printer off, 2) disconnect the data cable if using a wired connection, 3) unplug the printer for at least 10 minutes (unplugging the wire from the outlet may help) then plug it back in. Check if the error persists before connecting the data cable.

To solve the problem, you need to remove the waste ink absorbers and either clean or replace them and then reset the counter. The absorbers are two sets of pads inside the printer. One set is under where the printhead cleaning cycle occurs. The other is at the bottom of the printer; you need to disassemble the printer from the top, removing several screws. If you attempt this procedure, have lots of newspaper or other absorbant material around. This will get messy. Get the pads out of the unit (taking pictures will help you reassemble the printer). Then blot off the excess ink from the pads and the area where the pads are positioned. Then put the pads under running water until the water remains clear. Wait for the pads to dry (a blow dryer can speed the process up). Reassemble the printer.

Now reset the counter. (Do not do this step without cleaning the pads, eventually ink will get everywhere inside your printer and out.)

First try:

First power off the printer. Next, while holding STOP/RESET button, power on the printer.
While holding POWER button, release STOP/RESET button. Then push STOP/RESET button twice.
Wait about 20-30 second until the LED shows "0?. Then push STOP/RESET button four times.
Finally push POWER button twice. Last step is to turn off the printer by pressing the POWER button one last time.

If this fails, try:
Unplug power and USB cable.
Open door and hold power button.
Connect power.
Close door, then release power button.

Final reset option for an IP1700 is:
Turn Off the printer, and then take off the cable power.
Push and hold the power button
Connect again the power cable.
Use your middle finger to push the resume button 2 times.
Release the power button.

Please note that the counter is programmed for a value that should be reached when the printer is nearing the end-of-life for the unit. If the printer is under warranty, let Canon fix the problem. If it is out of warranty, you may find other parts of the printer failing soon.

I hope this helps.

Printer Canon iP1700 - I

Mostly, printer cartridge error occurs when the printer head is unable to identify the cartridge properly. And the basic reason behind this is that the cartridge is improperly attached.

To reattach the cartridge check the following steps :

turn on the lid of the printer and then remove the cartridge from the printer head.

Check the cartridge to make sure that there are no scratches or other damaged parts that can contribute to a printer cartridge error report.

Take note that the cartridge should not be left open for more than 30 minutes; otherwise the ink will start to dry up and the cartridge will get clogged.
