MY PRINTER SHOWS ERROR 5800 CAN

Hi, we shall try a reset to see if the fault clears. So remove your printer from the PC and uninstall the printer software. Now reinstall the printer software and connect the Printer to be detected and installed. Check printer properties to see the ink levels.
Use head cleaning before a test is taken . It is possible that the head is not reacting to the need of the command , can be an issue with ink drying , can also be poor ink cartridge contacts

I the errror si due to any mechanical jamming then try to check the following tips:

This seems to be fault in the transport of the paper in the rollers. So if you have used any adhesive sticker printing, it is possible that some glue has got clogged into the rollers. If not there can be some jammed paper in the rollers or the mechanism.
So start this work only if you are mechanically able with the right tools.
Remove the covers to get access to the mechanism . Remove the motor drive assembly , the fitting of the motor to the mechanism. Once this is removed the rollers can be turned manually so that you will be able to feed a paper to see the progress of the movement while studying if there is any obstruction or damage to the paper.
There is a in-detect sensor, usually an opto-coupler , make sure this is not clogged or dirty as this IR detection feeds the signal to the processor for starting the motor drive feed.
Reassemble but make sure the rollers are aligned to be in equal gap to feed the paper without a side pull. Now you must print and see if the fault has changed. If not repeat the above work to confirm the area of obstruction,

Hope it helps.

Paper will not pass through

if the paper is pulling to one when feeding through the machine chances are that a piece of paper is possibly stuck in the paper and will have be removed before it will work correctly again

My MX700 canon printer is flashing the on ff green

The printer head has locked itself and won't move.
I have found a solution for you on the Internet - here are the details :-

I was able to unlock the print head - just with a small piece of foil.
Cut a 3-5cm wide stripe from a sheet of overhead-foil (90um thickness), move it below the print head, and move it to the front and upwards, to the back and upwards. Remove the foil. After switching the printer on - it will work as before and be able to move the head. No need to disassemble the whole MX700!

Error 5700 impresora MX700

"Printer died after 1 1/2 years, error code 5700." on May 1, 2009 by danmc7777 (2 reviews)

Pros: This is a pretty decent product as far as ink jets go.
Nice to be able to use the feeder to scan multi-page documents and even cover two sides by running two passes and then the software interleaves the pages to make a seamless pdf file.

Cons: Ink jet technology. It worked very nicely for a year and then a few jets plugged up and wouldn't clear out even with cleaning.
Today the unit is dead, reporting error code 5700 and refusing to do anything after a paper jam.
Cartridges with chips.

Summary: I was pretty happy with this printer until one day it decided to grab about 30 sheets of paper at one time from the top feeder. This created a pretty major jam, and it reported the error code 5700. This jam must have stripped something in the gearing since now all it will do is report this error even after power cycling. Web search reveals that this is a serious fault that requires it to be sent in for repair. Yea, right. This unit is designed to be never disassembled since everything snaps together and opening it up is a major puzzle.

This is only reader review which i found in the web. this may tell you what is the error is all about..

MX 700 with no power. Have

Hi,

From the statement I understand that there are two possible reasons for the printer not working:

1. The power button gone bad
2. The IC is fired

At this point I suggest to contact the manufacturer, if it is warranty or open the printer check the circuit with a multi meter to continuity.

Thanks and regards,

It will not power up

If yours is like mine the ****** just wouldn't power up one day so I moved it and plugged it somewhere else and nada. So I thought maybe move it somewhere else and shazaaam it went on.
Worked for a few more days and now nothing will wake it up. I think the power suppy died. Power supply costs nearly $50.00 and then I gotta have it shipped. Cheaper to just buy a new one.

Error message comes up saying

Not a good start, there is a sensor in the printer reporting an error, Cannons objective in asking you to turn off the printer and turn it back on is to reset the sensor, however if the error persists it is not a faulty sensor reading but a actual fault. The only added suggestion I can make is to step through the installation again ensuring you have removed all internal packaging from the printer and all protective packaging from the ink tanks. After that and as the machine is new you need to contact Canon directly and explain the problem to them, there will always be a percentage of machines which roll off the production line with a fault. I only have the US contact details if that is not applicable you will have to check online for your own country

After almost one year of successful operation, I

First of all you need to check that the cables are plugged correctly - the line from the wall socket to the IN and the line between it and the phone to OUT. Then configure the fax receiving mode - if the line is used only for that then set the line to Fax only; otherwise set the FAX priority mode. Then set the answering mode to automatic.
Now all should be in automatic mode - the printer will detect an incoming fax and take over; when you hear the signal just hang it.
