Hi Insert the USB connection on the USB flash drive into the computer's USB port. Once the computer recognizes that an external storage device has been connected, it will install the software for the drive. Then Windows Explorer will respond with what to do next. Select "Open folder to view files" when prompted in the Windows Explorer pop-up: "What do you want Windows to do?"If you do not get this message, access the USB Flash drive by accessing the "My Computer" folder from your "Start" menu. Then double-click on the "USB Disk" which is probably in drive "F." Go to this link on Canon's website... http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/printers_multifunction/pixma_mx_series/pixma_mx700#DriversAndSoftware

Click on the Drivers and Software link, select your OS and download the drivers.

You'll be presented with the Drivers section (download the appropriate one for your computer) and the Software section for the various software packages for your printer. Download each of the ones you want to install.

These downloads are self-extracting zip files, to install them, just locate the files where you saved them and double click on each to extract and install the files. (Install the driver first).

Replaced my ink and now

Remove your printer from the PC and uninstall the printer software. Now reinstall the printer software and connect the Printer to be detected and installed. Check printer properties to see the ink levels.
Use head cleaning before a test is taken . It is possible that the head is not reacting to the need of the command , can be an issue with ink drying , can
also be poor ink cartridge contacts/.printer heads

I used my canon mx700

Hi and welcome to FixYa!

As a first course of action please try to remove the unit from power source and press hold the power button for 10secs. while unplugged to reset the system. After 10secs. please reconnect the unit to power source and turn the machine on. If it doesn't work, I believe that the unit has reached it's break point.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

What does error code 5c00 in a canon mx700 printer

Hi, 5C00 is a purge unit error, the purge is the cleaning unit on the right where the print head parks when shut off. If paper or something is caught in there you get an error, also ink build-up can stop it as well, a damp Q-tip will clean some of the ink away, if it doesn't help you need a new purge assembly.

Hope it helps.

Thanks for using fixya..........
