5010 is a scanner error from the scanner on top. Canon has no parts for these and you can only replace the entire top of your machine. If you can get it apart, you might clean and lube, but it's not made to be opened.

In the print dialog box, select the properties of the printer, Here you can select whether to print in color, b&w or greyscale.

The only way to fix the problem is to un install printer then reinstall.

The small pink button is on the bottom left corner of your printer control panel

Solutions List:

• Press ON/OFF switch to reset the multifunction device
• Remove paper jam MP470
• The MP470 may require repair

try finding a slotted plastic piece with a spring under it that the bottom tray slides into it must have pushed out and up into the paper feed mechanism. just pull it back down into place and all will be well.

Hi John,Check if the led on adapter is on ( few adapters has power led light ) to indicate the adapter is working. If the Adapter has light on it, your printer is damaged and it needs replacement/repair.If the adapter light is off - You just need to replace the adapterRegards,Suhail

This model Canon MX700 cannot scan slides.A flat bed scanner that can scan slides and negatives has a light scource that shines through the slide and negative fand is detected by the scanner sensor.I suggest you purchase a slide scanner, it will be cheaper that getting a new flat bed scanner with slide capability.
