Belkin n1 vision is shutting down

Is the Belkin plugged into a power strip or UPS? Try another AC outlet. Has the AC jack, plug in the rear or the Belkin been damaged due to pulling on the AC cord, causing a lose connection? Is your computer shut down at night? No Hibernate, No Sleep? Are their setting for the Belkin to shut down/timeout after a certain idle time? Here's a user manual: http://cache-www.belkin.com/support/dl/f5d8632-4_usermanual.pdf

I need to reset my router password.

You will need to log into your router with the IP Address, userid and password, then you can change the router password. You do realize that the Router Password just lets you get into the router to make changes to it.The Wireless Password is what allows people to connect their wireless devices or laptops to the internet via the router. If you need to change the wireless password then once you get into the router go to the wireless tab or wireless security and change it.The manual will give you the router's IP address, default userid and password. Also it might be on a sticker on the side or bottom of the router. The wireless password or network key might be on it also.If you need the manual go to Belkin's website.

Get online and got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "Belkin Support" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operating system when requested. Look for Manuals throughout the site.

Below is a direct link to their site where you just plug in your model number.

I currently have a belkin wireless g MIMO and want

Yes, all the setting and password, WEP encryption password, etc WILL BE LOST. Well they are not actually lost, they remain on the old router until you delete them or reset the router to the factory default.
I think what you are really looking for is will the setting and passwords transfer automatically(NO)
So you need to write down the old setting and password if you want to keep them and put them into the new router during set-up.
Unless you are going to personally keep the old router, for security, reset it to clear out the passwords. The reset procedures is the same for both routers
Just in case you do not have the new owners manual here is the direct link to Belkins.

Belkin N1 Vision (Part # F5D8232-4) and VPN problem

I hade the same problem with mv Cisco VPN v5.0 and Belkin N1 router (F5D8231-4 v4...). I could only solve the problem with a new firmware (f5d8231-4 ww v4.00.18 at http://www.belkin.com/uk/support/article/?lid=enu&pid=F5D8231uk4&aid=9419&scid=0 ). I think this is a general firmware issue at Belkin. Good luck.

2 days ago my router seem to lose connection and

This is because your router is dropping the connection with your ISP Modem...
It can be even an issue of modem...

To isolate the issue, what you can do is... You can connect your computer directly to the Modem and you can check for any intermittant connectivity...
if you dont have any problem with your modem, then definitely its gonna be the problem with your Belkin Router...

Doing a reset for the router and reconfiguring will resolve the issue in most of the cases...
If in case if it doesnt works, then you can do a firmware update for the router (that would be found in belkin router support website)...
Even then if it is dropping the connection then definitely it is a faulty router...You can ask for a replacement if the product is still under hardware & software warranty...
i work for belkin...
you can reach us any time in 1800-223-5546 if u are calling from USA...
we work 24 X 7....
For any other countries search in www.belkin.com/support

3.Note router name you are connecting to.
4.. Check the laptop do ipconfig /all to see current IP addresses.
5. Set the laptop up in the router by WEP KEY or MAC address. This set up in the "security tab" in the router. using 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 to access through a browser.
6.Note router name you are connecting to.
7. Move the laptop about 20ft away and try to log on to the internet.
This is for all routers to set up wirelessly.
8. check for firmware update at the manufacturers site for your model router
9. cell phones, cordless phones, digital TV's, can affect the data signal from a router. Also distance from the router can be a factor. If your router is in a basement place the router to a upper floor and center it in the room.

Router cant connect to the internet

Make sure that your computer is able to go online directly through the modem.
If your computer is able to go online through the modem, that means the modem is working fine.
You will need to connect the computer to the router and the modem to the router.
open the set up page of the router and change the settings of the router according to the ISP.

WD My BOOK 1 TB only shows 20 mb when connected

The problems you are having is that 32 bit addressing will only provide a maximum volume size of 20Gb. If you can reformat, you’re NAS device as NTFS this may help.

N1 Vision Router: i cannot connect to my belkin router...

Check the routers gateway IP address is in the same subnet as the other computers or laptop.
Ie 192.168.1.X . (X is between 1 and 254)
In addition, the sub net mask is 255.255.255.0

If all is ok then it is probably a miss configuration with WPA /WEP options

It is possible to configure N1 Vision Router as a

Yes you can. Here is how to do it:
  1. You have to set your Router toward the edge of your network's current range limit
  2. Then you have to install and navigate to the Admin Panel of the Router (if already installed, skip the installations option). Use a browser. IP Address would be http://192.168.0.1.
  3. Log in.
  4. Click on the "LAN Settings" (Below "LAN Setup"). Now you have to have the Number of Devices which you are going to connect to the Network.
  5. Click inside the text box for the wireless router's IP address at the center of the screen. Delete the last number in the IP address. You have to Type in a number that is AT LEAST Number of Devices + 1. Lets say you are gonna connect 50 Devices. Then the Number = 51.
  6. Now go to "DHCP Settings". Click on the option button "Turn Off".
  7. Click on "DNS" below the "Internet WAN" title. Click on the "Disable Forwarding" option button.
  8. Click on "Security" and Scroll down until you see "Port Forwarding". Remove each IP in the Text boxes. Find the option button "Gateway" and Click on it.
  9. Click on the "Application Gateway" underneath the "Firewall". Click on the box which has the Label "Disable Firewall".
  10. Click Apply and Ok.
  11. Log off.
  • Make sure you have a Strong Password for the Router. As you can see the Security is bit not tighten.
Generally the N standard rotuer do not require any Range Extender s. However if you are trying to use Range Extender with N router. You need to use G or B/G mode mixed, also you have to change the channel from Auto (as in Linksys Router, not sure about Belkin Router) 6 or 11, So that the Wireless connection can detect the Range Extender.
If you are facing any difficulties, please let me know. It was a pleasure to assist you!
