JVC Video camera GZ-HD7U does not run off of new (tested GOOD) batteries. Only runs off direct plugin. Is there a fuse or something I can fix to have it run off the battery? Don't suggest new batterie

Does the battery make good contact with the pins in the camera? Try putting a bit of pressure on it or move it etc to see if the unit comes to life, if it does even momentarily you have a loose connection at one of the pins. Since you have a second identical camera check the continuity reading between all the pins on the good camera and then the bad and compare the two should be exactly the same. If not there's an internal problem wit the unit.

How to get rid of

Hello

You can try gently rubbing the defective pixel with your finger until for a few minutes while your camcorder is turned OFF. Or you can use a ball-point pen and a cloth. While your camcorder is off, put the cloth in front of the stuck pixel and start applying slight pressure on it with your pen. Do not put pressure anywhere else than on the defective pixel, or you may break additional ones. Be careful not to scratch your LCD screen.

Power doesn't come on

This is usually caused by a failed component in the power circuit within the camera and can usually be repaired fairly inexpensively. However, it's not a user serviceable problem and will need to be repaired qualified service technician.

No sound when I play back using an external

Microphones are input devices; they don't double as speakers. If you mean that a stand-alone set of speakers do not work, but the internal speakers of the tv do let you hear the audio track from the camera. Then I have a couple of different suggestions: 1) make sure the stand-alone speakers work with other input sources, 2) try a different cable (make sure it is connected properly).

Also how are you connecting to the different devices? The video camera has an HDMI port which will send audio and video to the TV on one cable. If you are using the RCA audio in both cases, then I suspect a problem with the external speakers.

If you mean that the audio track is clear on play-back when you use the built-in microphone during the recording and not heard if the external microphone, check the external mic for problems. Try it on another recording device. I can't rule out a jack failure without more information.

I hope this helps.
