Nikon S51 transfering pics to computer?

The best way to transfer pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries. Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program, such as Picasa. Organize edit and share your photos

Green light on but nothing works

When the camera starts acting in a strange or unexacting way, you could "reset" it, by removing the battery for a few moments and then replace it. But be aware, the green light is on, normally, because the camera is accessing the memory card. If it can't recover from that (and the light stays on) it could be the memory card has a problem. So next to removing the battery, I should advice you to remove the memory card, and save everything on it to a computer, using an external memory card reader. If there are no important pictures on the card, you could try to switch on again and if the camera works normal, you could try to get the pictures of the normal way with the USB cable. If you saved all pictures to a PC, I would give the memory card a format in the camera using the setup menu, Format memory, like the manual on page 115 says. Be aware if you only have an internal memory, you should format this and pictures in there can't be recovered. 53af874f-36b4-4538-965f-f6af94f8f38c.png

File contains no image data

Hello

Thank you for using FixYa for your problem

Always check the batteries first but if is it still giving the same fault, your camera is faulty.
It should be taken to an authorized repair centre for a repair estimate. Very few digital cameras have any user-serviceable parts.

Please rate our solutions and if you still have problems please call back for more ideas to help you

Lcd display cracked and will not display images

A cracked LCD cannot be repaired, only replaced. Given the age of the camera (yes, I have one of these too) I suspect it will be cheaper and much easier to replace the whole camera rather than trying to get the LCD replaced.

I have a nikon coolpix and says memory is write

Take a look at the memory card. SD and SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

My camera is saying that my card cannot be used (

Try formatting the card in the camera using the camera's format feature located in its menus. If offered "low level" format, select it. Note that this will also totally erase the card, so do this only after you're certain that all needed photos have been backed up to your computer.
