Hi,
Am writing from Uganda requesting for expert help from Lg the manufacturer of the above TV model.
I bought my Lg xcanvas 37lp1d from S.Korea i bought it in used state and has been working well since I got it in 2014 but about 8 months ago i started noticing anomalies; it started displaying flickering screen, slow to start, distorted lines appearing on screen, certain times when a decoder/DVD player is connected it would fail to display picture until both TV and gagdet are switched off and turned on again.
Recently it completely failed to turn on.
On switching on the mains the power on LED lights yellow, then it goes into a sequence of clicks as if its being turned on and off, but the yellow stays lighting, midway it starts to blink as though about to display picture and finally reverts to standby mode, yellow light turning red. when you switch off the mains and back on again it goes into the same cycle, again and again.
Am not an expert in TV repair and i don't trust technicians here that is why am seeking help from Lg.
I will be grateful if i get a response from you.

Note: the day before it could not turn on there was a lot of flickering screen and distorted lines and it appeared dim and generally power that day was less in voltage on the whole.

Do you mean that the closed captions are on? Disabling this depends on the video source. If the source is TV (OTA or cable with a coaxial cable), then you need to access the Settings icon after pressing the Home button on the remote. Then go to the Accessibility section. Locate the Closed Caption sub-menu and disable the captions. (Click the appropriate button on the remote to enter menus and change settings.)
If the source is not connected to the RF input, then you probably need to disable the captions at the source. This will depend on the source. For some satellite boxes with a main set-top box that serves a secondary TV, you'll need to disable the captions at the main set-top box. For an ADB IPTV box, press Menu on the remote. Then go to Settings with the arrow keys and press Enter. You may need a pass code from the service provider. Go to the Hardware sub-menu and enter the Audio section. Finally the captions can be disabled in this section. Check the documentation for your source.
If you mean the Voice Narration (audio description), you need to go to the Audio settings section from the Home screen or the Accessibility section (as above) depending on the TV model.
I hope this helps.

60pa6500 LG Plasma NO sound or picture. Standby RED LED lit, when I hit power I hear a click and RED goes off. Checked caps on all boards visually and none are swollen.
Check capacitor with a digital volt meter. In my Samsung, the TV has a chip that check to see if all circuits are OK before turning on the set. Samsung has a power, input and video boards. The problem is when it check the high voltage circuit and it does not have 390 volts, the chip turn-off the power instead. (It is a safety thing.) You can buy a new power board or fix it yourself. The power board is where the 120 volts AC is plugged in, and near the 120 volts is small transformer, then you will see a capacitor rated 100 uf at 450 volts. Check for 390 volts here. If the voltage is less, then replace this capacitor with a 350 uf at 400 or at 450 volts.Samsung used a "small" capacitor when it should have ordered at large capacitor. Good luck.
