Why is my LG 32LC7D TV taking 5 minutes to have a picture when turning on.?

Likely signs of a issue that is going to only get worse---could be in power supply of set (first place to look) or could be main board or something that it controls.Kind of like "My car runs rough when cold" it is a issue that is not full blown yet.

Volume increse itself

Good day!

That problem is usually cause of defective button at the TV (not on the remote).

Because when the button is defective it is not go back to the original position or contact which is (N.O) normally open. When you push the defective button it remains on contact (N.C) normally close not go back to the normally open.So that the volume of the TV is increase automatically.

Please replace the push button.

Thank you and good luck.

There are 3 possible problems.

1) Weak Signal, Varying Signal or faulty Antenna Cable is causing the TV the retune everytime it's turned on.
2) TV Tuner Board is Faulty.
3) Channels need to me manually stored.

Easiest thing to try first would be to retune as detailed on Page 34 of the Manual at the link below.

http://www.communityucc.org/resources/LG_TV.pdf

If this fails then the next thing to try would be using another Antenna Cable or trying (if possible) another TV with the same connections to see if the same thing happens.

If you let me know what happens we can work from their.

My TV picture will not come up. The power light

Hello
Your TVs video section circuit has the trouble. There is no serial data comes to other chips. There is two chances for this fault. The first one is, absence of voltage form the power supply board to the main system section of the TV. The second one is; main system IC itself is defective. This is not a user repairable, or resettable problem. All measuring equipments, and sound knoledge in digital electroncs is necessary. You must have knowledge to follow the schematic diagram of the TV and to locate the faulty component(s). Working with power supply section is very fatal to an unexperienced; because the main power supply from the wall socket enter diretly to this board. Every component in it will be dagerous to touch.
If you have these, send your email address to me by FixYa. I'll send you the schematic diagram [service manual] of this set to you by return mail. It is in Adobe Acrobat PDF document, and I cannot send it to you by this site as this window does not allow me to do so. OK.

I purchased a LG LCD

There's a good chance you have failing electrolytic capacitors either in the power section or the inverter section or both.
Any caps in these sections that look bulged at the top, or bulged/leaking at the bottom need to be replaced.
If you repeatedly turn it off and on, eventually it'll probably stay on, but every time you turn it off, the TV will get harder and harder to start up until one day it just won't.
Sometimes you have to do the opposite to start it up and unplug it for some time and then try again.

If you aren't tech savvy, don't worry, read the rest of this solution and watch the videos.

If you are handy with a soldering iron and can identify the power supply and inverter / FM section for the backlights, an inexpensive handful of capacitors will likely fix you right up.
Match the capacitance on the capacitors. Go over voltage if you can, and still have them fit.
IE - it's not a bad idea to replace a 10V cap with a 16V or 25V or even a 50V, but don't replace a 680uF cap with a 500uF or a 1000uF (unless you are positive it's only doing ripple filtering, and even then, you should go OVER, not under the uF rating).

Most of the caps that go are 10V 1000uF or 3300uF.

I found some great videos of the procedure (for many Samsungs with the same issue) on youtube.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8l0AUj8QUkg&NR=1&feature=fvwp
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y7b_nTaZYcU&feature=related

As you can see, this issue spans plasma TVs, as well as large and small LCD TVs and monitors.
The parts are cheap, and skill required is minimal.

Hello,

Your power supply board is dead, u know basic electronics' and soldering? Most of the times, the power supply board just have dead leakages gases capacitors. These capacitors always bulges up on it top,or puff up on it top.Replaced these gases leakages capacitors will get your TV power stable, and work again.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

Good luck in solving the problem , do take caution in handling the television because of high voltage.

My control remote doesn't work

Hi, first if remote doesn't work, try new batteries......

If new batteries did not fix the problem, then it means the problem is either from the remote or the TV.

Remote: Check the remote battery terminal, see if its not rust. Also, disassemble the remote, can check the connection between the terminal and the remote board, see if there is no disconnection of any kind.

If after checking and all seems well, then it means the remote is defective. To confirm, borrow a remote, test it with the TV. If it works, then it means you need to replace your remote. But if the remote you borrowed does not work, then it means the problem is from the TV and not the remote.

TV: There is a sensor in the TV that communicates with the remote. If this sensor is defective, the remote won't communicate with the TV.

The TV sensor might have loosed contact from inside of the TV or it maybe defective and need to be replaced.

So do the above troubleshooting and let me know if the problem is from the TV or remote. If problem is from the remote, you need to do a replacement. But if otherwise, let me knows as well.

When plugged into wall the

Plasma and LCD TV sets are prone to having capacitors in the power supply section fail. This is the most likely cause for the probem you describe. When capacitors fail your will commonly see one or more of the following symptoms.
  • No video, Power light is on or blinking.
  • TV is making a clicking noise.
  • TV takes a while to come on
  • Screen is very dim or flickers.

Again, You can get a power supply repair kit with the parts, detailed instructions, and support from sites such as www.TvRepairKits.com . Or just click here to see more details on their kit.

Here are pictures of capacitors...Notice that the ones below look bloated. They have failed and will need to be repalced.

Our tv is about 3 years old. We are a Time Warner

I'm sure this is fairly easy to repair. It sounds likely to be a power supply problem, possibly due to bad capacitors. Your original symptoms of no picture were likely to be the backlight controller not having sufficient power to operate correctly. Ideally you should have it looked at and repaired then because leaving it to get worse may well have caused additional component failure. Get it checked by a reputable TV repair engineer.
