Speaking from experience it's a bad idea. Don't bother, just get a new TV.If they are cheap here in USA now they should be even cheaper in Dubai.

How to replace JVC lt-42x688 t-con board.

Assuming this is the same as my jvc 42x788 the small t-con board is near the top of the tv. It's behind the main panel that the other boards are mounted to. You don't have to take that main panel completely off, just take enough screws out to pull it out far enough to reach the t-con board. Also watch for any wires that need to be unplugged to get more room pulling the top of the panel out.

JVC LT46DZ7B5.. HDMI ports not

Hi.

To start, this TV should not require service remote to access service menu or adjustment menu.

In service menu also there is not a single reset option, but the technician must set the values one at the time.

About the part purchased, I could not find any JVC 87274RS remote control. Please check the number, include any dash or spaces, and include any info you have on the part, so that we can spread light on this.

About the problem it does not sound like something that "just need a reset" it looks like HDMI port is defective, and you should be entitled to get a technician at home if the unit is still in warranty (check it out).

Here how to get in service mode. You use the standard remote. Do not change values in service mode or you can damage the TV:

ginko_66.gif

I uploaded here a service manual for the 40'' of same chassis.I do not have the 42''. Service mode, most parts and functions are the same. Panel size and frame are different.

Regards.

Ginko.

My 42 in tv will not turn on

Unplug it for about an hour to let it reset itself, if it still does not work, then you will have to do further troubleshooting inside. Right now only the 5vdc standby circuit is working.

All of the HDMI ports on my JVC lcd tv are not working.

I had the same problem on mine. It is a factory defect. It means your HD box that controls HDMI, USB, and RED GREEN BLUE component. Usually the red, green, blue, (720 HD) component is still functional, but the HDMI and USB are shot and can only be replaced not repaired. If your warranty is still valid and you have your receipt call JVC and they will give you the number to a certified warranty repairman. If you do not have the receipt they will not fix it. If you do not have the warranty and decide to repair it yourself or send it out, the fix is not difficult but it is costly. The box is about $1000.00 and the labor varies. The last option is to sell it for parts. If you decide to do this I will purchase the broken television from you. But if you have your warranty info there is nothing to worry about.

My tv picture cuts off at the top, losing scores or tops of heads

Have you tried the "Aspect" button below the menu keys of the remote? Try "Full" Aspect and see if this improves things for you.

Hope this helps.

JVC LCD TV (LT-42X688) input panel not working!

1. This TV has setting for the HDMI input that allows you to select the HDMI Audio or Analog(red/white wire) audio. Make sure this is correct

2. Most cable boxes are DVI not HDMI. If DVI then you actually do need to use those Red/white cables. If HDMI, refer back to #1.

3. The cable box has a setting to select the Audio output, HDMI (digital) or Analog(red/white cables). Just like #1, this has to be set.

4. Contact your cable company to help you set up the box correctly. JVC can probably help you check the TV
