Hold own the - button on the answering machine for about 10 seconds until it beeps then the ringer will be off on the base unit.

1) unplug all phones 2) plug them back in and check line. If you still have the issue,!take a corded phone with. Phone jack coed to your box on the outside of the house. Usually gray, unscrew the first box - you'll see modules there - the one with the last four of your phone number is the module we'll use. Follow the directions on the box to open that module - plug your phone into the module. Here's the important thing - if you don't hear static, then the problem is from inside your house. If you call att to come out they will charge you - but that's the whole unplug the phones and centralize your base better. However, if you still hear static in the outside box, it's an att issue and have to come out at no charge.

Turn off the mains power at the base unit for a few seconds, then turn the power back on.
