I looked at the table of contents - and lo and behold the was an entry for Adjusting the Earpiece Volume on page 36. So you will not have to repeat the simple steps, here is your answer: Adjusting the Earpiece Volume You can choose from six volume levels for the handset earpiece. To adjust the earpiece volume while on a call, press the up arrow (to make it louder) or the down arrow (to make it softer). The handset display shows the current volume level for the earpiece.

The contact wires in the cradle are not making good contact with the phone. Clean the contacts on the bottom of the phone and try wriggling the phone in the cradle until you get a constant red.

Try this .go to menu,then settings , then call settings ,then press' Show caller Id.'I hope this works for you .

Hi Tina, This is pretty simple to do as these cordless answering devices have menu selections that allow changing this and many other settings. The only problem is that you neglected to include the model of this Uniden phone. If you have a different model on the handset than the base - provide both model numbers.
