Hi,

It will give the beep sound because of two reasons when you press the talk button with no dial tone.
1)Battery no charge-Did the in use/charge indicator come on? then battery based problem.
2)Check installation

Battery no charge
1) charge battery for 16 hours.
2) Clean the charging contacts on handset and base with a soft cloth.
3) See solutions for “No dial tone.”
4) Replace the battery the batteries are stone dead use ohm-meter to read the readings if you get change in reading no problem else change it.
Charger may also be some times defecive check if its working.


Check installation
1)Make sure the base power cord is connected to a working electrical outlet.
2)Make sure the telephone line cord is connected to the base unit and the wall phone jack.
3)Connect another phone to the same modular jack; if the second phone doesn’t work, the problem might be with your wiring or local service.
4)The handset may be out of range of the base. Move closer to the base.

Bring your old battery pack to a batteries plus store,albeit it may cost you more for a new custom battery than a new phone

Is there dial tone at the jack where you are plugged in?? Are you sure?

Is this a pulse/tone phone? Do you have a pulse or tone line? Have you made the correct setting? Is the RJ-11 connections solid? Have you tried the wire on another phone and proved it is good? Is there a separate power suply for the phone or does it get its power from (a) the radio or (b) from the phone company?

Once you are in alarm on mode (hold alarm button on left until it changes display and lets you select buzzer/radio/off) Then you can push the set button to select radio station/volume etc.

To enable the alarm, push and hold either alarm 1 or alarm 2 button on left side of face... eventually it will switch the display and say alarm enabled and you can then push the alarm button to switch between buzzer / radio / off.

I had a problem with not being able to dial out... some digits came up as bizarre symbols and it didn't even take all 10 digits before beeping out. What I did to fix the problem was to remove the battery from the phone - actually pull the battery plug out, leave it for a minute then plug it back in. Then the phone started working again. You might want to try this... sort of like a hard reboot of the phone.

That will be because the static was at the callers line, not at your end. At this time of year it is water in junction boxes at the caller's residence. If it was on every call, it would be down to your connections.

Remove all the phones on the system. Remove all the handset batteries. Plug in one old style corded phone to the main phone jack, it is normally the one closest to the front door. Do you have dial tone? If not, it is your Telco. If you have a dial tone, plug all the other phones in testing for a dial tone as you go.

If you mean the long-life lithium backup battery for the corded 2-line GE 2-9421 (A indicating the sales region), that is a 3V Lithium battery. The part number 5-1923 appears to be a common CR2032 coin cell battery. These are used as backup batteries for Eraseable Programmable ROM on many devices, including computers.. Probably you wont be able to change password without erasing all messages. That is the point of having security code
