two issues

Ice maker makes loud crashing sounds but makes almost no ice. I thought someone was breaking in once evening, it's that loud! The upper compartment freezes soda cans,it freezes just about everything even set at 40. The deli tray is OK it hasn't frozen food so far, sometimes the veggie crispers freeze also. Frig started out not cooling enough even when set at 34, that was 14 months ago. It freezes almost all the time now. Any ideas? This is a French door RF265AABP, purchased in July 07

Well here is How I fixed My French Door Ice Maker, It made the same loud crashing sounds, and seldom put out much ice. To the point that it made no ice at all.

First, Make sure you can get water out of the front, if not, your water lines may be clogged.

The second thing you can do is hit the secret RESET button on the upper front side of the ice maker. See my first image for it's location, it is a soft rubber button.

The third thing.. In my case the reset button worked for a little bit. But eventually stopped. I had to remove the ice maker, and found that that several rows of ice had gotten stuck. The swinging arm that smacks the ice out would just strip the gears banging that ice to no avail. So opening the ice maker up and cleaning it out helped. I also cleaned the sensor contact with some alcohol. It is a thin metal strip close to where the gearing housing is. This I believe is ultimately where the problem starts. It allows the trays to get overfilled, and the ice can't be released. Once I cleaned out the tray of stuck ice, cleaned the sensor, plugged it back in, and hit the reset button once more, It was making loads of ice once again. If this fails, you can get a complete new ice maker online, I found a vendor on eBay selling it for a reasonable $80. You can use my pictures to see how to disassemble for repair ore replacement. My fridge by the way is the RF267AARS.

the part number is: DA97-05554A

It works with the following refrigerators
Samsung RF267AABP Samsung RF267AABP/XAA Samsung RF267AARS Samsung RF267AARS/XAA Samsung RF267AASH/XAA Samsung RF267AAWP/XAA

My samsung rf265ab did the same thing after I was cleaning it and the door was open for an extended time. I noticed the the light bulbs looked good and also notice 2 tiny black buttons between the light bulbs. They were slightly extended. I pushed both in and when I opened the fridge again the lights were working. Don't know if I fixed it or just a coincidence.

You should be able to move it gently to the lower position.  If it doesn't want to move don't force it.  Try shutting the ice maker off in case the arm is frozen in the up position.  After the ice maker defrosts a bit try again to move the arm gently.

A rubber piece fellout and there is a white wire hanging out.

Samsung Refrigerator RF265AA ice maker, a rubber piece fell out and there ia a white wire hanging out. How do I fix this problem?

This just happened to me.

The waxy piece has a clear plastic bracket, if its not connected, look around your freezer. The waxy piece fits inside the bracket, and attaches to the ice maker, just in front of the ice tray.

The white wire fits inside the waxy piece. It is the thermostat that tells the ice tray when to dump the ice.

This is impossible to feel around for, so you will need to remove at least the bottom freezer compartment as well as the ledge piece from just inside the freezer door. If you are a relatively thin/small person, you can extend the top tray fully outward, and slide underneath. Looking up at the ice maker, the plastic bracket should have a little prong. This prong will attach just behind the ice maker, with the thermostat facing the ice tray.

I cannot remove the ice

I cannot remove the ice bucket from the fridge. It is stuck.....Help......

Hi ndb2157,

Please determine whether the ice bucket is being blocked by the ice or by the part of the icemaker is being dislodged. If it's ice blocking it, please reinsert the bucket, closing the doors, then dispense some ice to see if the auger in the bucket can move the ice out of the way so the bucket can be removed.

Hope it helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.

I just had the same problem. The drawer was removed for cleaning and we could not get it back in; it would slide in with about 3 inches not able to go in. Took everything out that we could and still could not get it to go back in all the way. Finally started looking closer at the metal rails and the sides of the drawer and realized there is a tab on each side that needs to be inserted in the the corresponding hole on the metal rail. With the drawer out, pull the rails all the way out; place the side rails of the drawer on the metal side rails and line up the tabs with the holes and insert. Your drawer should now slide in correctly.

The instructions above are wrong. The ice maker will not come out as instructed. There is a tube coming out of the back of the refregerator that passes in and around the bottom of the ice maker that won't let it slide out. If you could take the bottom panel off the ice maker, you will see the tube. To replace the ice maker, the entire enclosure may have to be removed.

samsung refrigerator has a 33e code flashing

power outage when power came back on 33e code came up flashing still on

That sounds like a power glitch. Try pressing and holding the power freeze and power cool buttons at the same time for about 8 to 13 seconds and see if it clears.

If that doesn't do it, let me know and I'll dig up the Fast Track on it.
