FM Radio

Hi
iPods do not come with FM tuners. FM tuners can be bought and added on as an extra feature, but this is a third party device, not an iPod device.

Generally, when you connect the third party FM tuner to the iPod, the iPod will recognize it and you can use the 3rd party FM tuner to change stations.

If you do not have the FM tuner to connect to the iPod, the individual that sold you the iPod did not include the FM tuner to connect to the the iPod. In that case, the Menu will still list the FM tuner, but there is no device to connect to the iPod.

Ipod/itunes

If you have an Exclamation mark next to the song, it means the computer cannot locate the song. Remember that Itunes is only a player, and the music is not there. It should be kept in your music folder. If you go to ADVANCED and select consolidate library, all mp3s or itunes playable audio will be consolidated. You then want to go to preferences, and reset your music folder location. If you still cannot locate the music, theyve either been deleted or have gone corrupted.

Hope this helps.

IPod isn't doing anything.

I need a little more information. What model of iPad do you have? This is a common problem on certain iPads but don't worry we may not get it working with out having to put in a new board but I will at least get your music transferred. If you want to keep it after I figure out what the problem is and if you like fixing your own things I will walk you through each step it may be easier if I make you a video to follow replacing the part I believe is causing your problem. I need the model number also I need to know how many gigabytes it has. One last thing since you can't power it up right now how many apps are you running on it. I don't think at this time that's your problem but it's something that will help me to narrow the problem down. Oh one last question have you dropped it and if so what kind of case do you keep it in IE. a otter case etc. we will get you going soon. kevin.

Headphones not playing in iPod

This is either cause by a damaged headphone socket in the iPod or a loose connection. The only way to solve it will involve opening the iPod case and inspecting the daughter board that the headphone socket is on.

In trying to replace battery I severed a cable that appears to go to the disable switch. Switch was on orange so now I can not turn Ipod on. Is there a fix?

always be careful when opening electronics; you should know or at least have an understanding of basic locations and wiring. i can tell you for sure; solder the cable back to where it was connected and you should recover power. note the cabe may be insulated so just twisting both end together might not work. you need to remove the insulation before you reconnect both ends.

Thanks for contacting Fixya.com
Please follow the bellow instructions..

Click on the link for the iPod that was plugged in located underneath "Devices."Select the tab named "Summary" at the top of the main iTunes window. Four different settings for the iPod will appear in the bottom of iTunes.Click on the box found to the left of "Manually manage music and videos" to enable that setting.
Click "Apply" to save the "Manually manage" setting on the iPod. You will now be able to sync that iPod without iTunes automatically erasing the library on the device.
