We put in a dvd and then we get a message of no

Open the cover and physically move the lense assembly toward the outside edge of the player. Try it a few times. Has worked for us.

Wont Play Discs

Sounds like you have a mechanical problem, which can range from a bad/broken belt, roller or motor. Inspect & repair the drive train.

If you are not capable of doing that seek professional service.

Wont spin dvd's anymore

You can try and clean the laser optics with a cotton swab dipped in isopropyl alcohol. Just open the DVD lid. It is usually a small glass lens ( often clear or blueish in color)
let the excess alcohol evaporate.
If that does not give more motor movement, its possible you have a defective spindle motor or drive IC

If you are saying the unit will not read any discs you have either a dirty or bad optical pickup unit in the player.

Try to remove the battery and only use the power cord.It is possible you battery is dead.
