You might have the RCA audio cables plugged into the "DVD Only" outputs. Move the white cable to "Out" . Leave the Red audo in the "DVD only" audio plug.

With most dvd/vcr combo units there is separate wiring. When I use my emerson combo unit I have it wired that I have to be on different inputs on my tv to view a dvd and a vhs. On some units the vcr portion is wired via a regular cable line, while the dvd portion is wired with the yellow, red, and white component cable. Try inserting a dvd and scrolling through your tv inputs until you find the picture or check your wiring to ensure nothing has come loose. If that has no result you could try wiring it differently if possible to eliminate that as a possibility.

Interstingly enough I could not find a copy of your manual in the usual sites. Even RCA themselves do not have the manual available online. There timers usually don't vary much when the model numbers are close. Normally you go to the menu that gives you the choices of Clock, Program, Tuning, and Setup. You would choose Program. Then choose the Program that you want to delete and highlight it. At the bottom of the screen you should see a choice that will say "TO ERASE PRESS CLEAR" and "TO EXIT PRESS MENU". You would press CLEAR. The following website will allow you to download a copy of the manual for the DRC6350N. There shouldn't be that much difference between your model and this one.

If you have Snow on the menu as well as the picture or video then it seems to be the modulator. If this is the case it is cheaper too change the whole system.

If you find it is just the video's that are snowy then use a DVD & VHS cleaning kit. If there is still an issues buy a new one

Hold power button on remote for 5-7 secs to see if it responds. If that fails, change batteries, and repeat process. If that fails, I would get a new remote from RCA and/or store. If replacement fails, then the remote led sensor in DVD player is bad - most manufacturers repalce the entire player rather than repair such a thing. But it's probably the remote.

Try to check the power supply output side where anything could came into contact with positive and negative line for which when you press play button then it shuts down.

RCA video cables handle analog signals. HDMI cables carry digital video signals. You need a converter. If you are using a component video converter, check if you swapped two of the three RCA video cables. (There are some A/V projectors that can do the translation of RCA and HDMI internally. Most TVs do not.) I hope this helps. Most modern tv remotes are not normally designed to be repaired. You will possibly need to replace it. there are plenty of cheaper after market version that will do the job just as well. Your other option, and yes I know this is a silly answer, when you want to mute the TV is to simply press the volume down button to zero then turn it back up when you want sound.
