Do you have the cables connected for power and to the computer? If so do you have the drivers installed?

Simple connect the cables to the power and the computer, if you have a CD then insert that into the computer and run the installation. If you don't have a CD, then download the drivers via the link above and run that.

Normal 0 Driver could be corrupt.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.

If you have Windows XP go to Start>Settings>Control Panel>Administrative Tools> Print Spooler.

Stop the print spooler.

Turn the printer off.

Turn the printer on.

Start the print spooler.

I have the same problem.

I feel your pain, but it's not worth fixing. HP's mission is to sell INK CARTRIDGES, they could'nt care less about the printers.

They sell printers at the cost of manufacturing them.

Unfortunately, all printer mfgrs do the same thing.

Laser printers are going the same route now.

I have a paper jam.

Need to known what plug it is to answer that if its a usb plug it goes to the usb port but if its the big printer plug you would have a slot on the back of you computer box that would take that either a printer port or com port

into any USB socket. you put the square end into printer, the other, flatter end into a USB socket at back of pc

I have had this problem, and have became very furiated.

Clear the Jam by removing and paper you see in from the rear access door.
If you are printing something from a PDF website....... make sure to have it still in the printer schedule.... It will still say printer jam..... but have it there regardless if its something you dont want to have to retype into the pdf form........ After that simply restart your computer. It should resume printer as soon as your computer boots up.....

Worked for me..... Hope this helps everyone else whos probably cursing your printer at the moment!!!!

Sorry, just got back in. Sometimes you have to turn the computer and printer completly off and then turn them back on. Also make sure the printer is hooked up to the computer...
