The Proscan 19LA25Q came with a remote originally. Unless the IR receiver has failed, it should work with a universal remote. (Note: if the TV is newer than the remote (or released less than 6 months before the remote was programmed), the remote codes for your TV may not be included.) Since the code lists on universal remotes do vary depending on the age and model, please give more information than just the brand. GE remotes usually have a version code label in the battery compartment. This version code is needed to look up the correct code lists. Some GE universal remote built by Jasco codes are here: https://byjasco.com/support/ge-universal-remote-codes. The Proscan 19LA25Q was probably built in 2007, since there are reviews from 2007. That was also the year when this size TV had to have an ATSC tuner. So if your remotes were programmed before July 2007, they may not be compatible. Some of the current Proscan TVs probably use the same parts as some Sylvania, RCA and Curtis TVs.The 19LA25Q was warranted by On Corporation which has control of the RCA brand now. Hi Carl, Attaching a stand to a TV is a very simple job. You have to put or slide the stand in to its slot and tighten a few screws. Please try it I am sure you will do it.

Hi Ed, Failed speakers is a common problem for no sound in flat panel TVs. Please have them checked before doing anything else.

make sure speaker is on check menu settings but ti may need reseting go to www.proscanvideo.com for reset info.

You have to make sure that the TV is not switched to CABLE in the settings, then run auto detect in the automatic channel set up.

I bought two tvs and after about 3 months one of my tvs would not turn on; this tv was used more than the other one that is still working. I noticed that the power cord has a box that connects the two parts of the cords together, well the box gets very hot. I thought that the problem could be the power cord (may be it burned out) and not the tv. I switched power cords from the working tv to the nonworking tv and that sovled the problem.

did you make sure the voltage, amperage, and polarity were matched tv to plug?  The information is found on the back of your tv and the plug must match that.  If they do not match, you might have fried your tv.

Hi,This model no. is known for AC power adapter problem. Pop noises, flashes of the screen is an indication of out-of-regulation condition on its power supply. If there's no LED light lit, then high chance that the fault came from the AC power adapter.This model no. used AC power adapter with a 12 Volts output feed to the unit. You have to confirm the 12V output using the multimeter set in DC measurement.If the 12V output voltage is not present, then you have to replaced it with new one. This model no. is already discontinued, only substitution is available online which will work also for your unit. You may inquire/call Sears hotline no. Yes, all TVs have fuses. It'll be located on the circuit board within the TV.

Remotes.com has a substitute remote for the TV available here: http://www.remotes.com/remotes/servlet/rs?a=Search&o=c&uid=0&m=19LA25Q&uuid=13075745073740 . This should work without any setup.

Any universal remote would also work if it was programmed 6 months or more after the TV was released. (The reviews seem to date from 2007 so you can use that date for reference.) If your remote doesn't list Proscan, you might try Thomson (TTE) which built some Proscan TVs. (RCA owned the brand earlier.) You may need to try multiple codes to find one that enables all of the TV functions. Note: the low end remotes often do not include the Source/Input and Menu buttons. If you do not have matching buttons on the TV, get a remote with those buttons. Those remotes that can be programmed via a USB connection with a computer are the fastest to set up.
