You may have bad audio amplifier IC gone out.
Let verify first to narrow down to where the problem can be, attach the powered PC speakers to the Audio Line out RCA jacks to see if you can get the sound there, if you do, then the problem can be in the power amp circuits, if you do not get the sound at RCA jacks, then the problem can be in the sound processor circuit. You will be better off using Powered speakers if it works, to have TV repair will not be worth it.

You still need to get the main input power cord for it which you can get from local PC repair shop. One thing about this TV is that the backlight inverter board goes bad on most set.

These remote codes also depend on what the exact make and model of the remote control is that you are using. These remotes can also use 2,3,4 or even 5 digits. The other factor is that some universal remotes will recognise the code for your proscan TV - but others will not depending on how they are programmed.

I will give you the most common 4 digit codes for Proscan and hopefully these work for you. If not please post up further detail on the remote control - exact make and model no. that you are using in order for us to solve the problem.

Common Proscan TV codes:

0000, 0015, 0031, 0107, 0162, 0163,1000, 1008, 1068, 1108, 2010, 2118, 2144, 2205

Press and hold the code search button until light comes on then press the device you wish to program (tv-dvd-cable-sate-vcr) then enter the three digit code and release the code search button. You also try holding down the device your wanting to program then enter the code then release the device button (tv-dvd-sat-vcr) to check your tv . If that fails google the rcr4258 remotecodes and it will send you to sites that offers different ways. Good luck

Make sure your wallwart power supply is good, the problem can be in the back light inverter board is bad, that is the part that went out on my 19la25q.

You do not set the resolution at the TV, the TV will display what video resolution you feed it, I also doubt that the your 19" can do 1080P.

mine has the same problem just needs a new ac adapter

SEE this problem causes because of two errors
1) coz of plug and play of hardware dumping
or
2)coz of problem in vga cable connected to ur screen.
solution
reinstall ur operating system
or change ur vga cable

Try pressing the menu button on the remote to see if the menu comes up.

If it does it's possible the light and colour have been turned right down, find the option on the menu and turn it up.

Also check no cables are unplugged at the back of the tv, picture is usually yellow make sure it's in tight. Check other end as well so sky box or DVD player.

If you're using an AV port on your tv try using a different one, so switch form AV1 to AV2.
