Ok - been researching this for a year or so - Apparently this is likely to happen if you delete something on the phone like contacts or messages or apps etc. and the phone doesn't have the memory available to handle the process... there is also some data that is added or moved during the shutdown process, so even if it looks ok to go, there might actually be a problem on restart. Not quite a solution, but at least an answer... It would appear from all sources that recovery from this is not possible - I have not found anyone who successfully even reflashed it with original software.

This is my 8th 8915 which is also prone to this - and it fits exactly with the pattern of destruction. I actually was avoiding deleting items via data cable b/c someone advised me that would be bad... turns out to be just the opposite! So watch your memory limits when adding contacts and apps with this phone.

My guess is that this is applicable to the entire family of pantech pn-200,212,215,300 .utstarcom 7025/7075.audiovox 8610, 8900, 8912, 8915, 8920, etc, that were similar

This is not likely a battery issue but is indicative of a phone that has gotten wet or has been infected with a virus or has other software issues. This is a CDMA network phone, the other is the SIM card, they are very difficult to unlock, it can be done but you need to understand the system, here is a link to show you how and what you need to unlock the phone so it can used on a Verizon network. http://cellphoneforums.net/verizon/t169954-unlocking-sprint-phones-verizon.html

this is late, but for anyone else wanting to know, this occurs when your message reaches the companies smsc [short message service centre] it fails to send to the recipient at first, so it stores itself on the centre [or logs] and will attempt to send multiple times over the course of the next 48-72 hours depending on how they have their engineering setup. This can result in multiple sms, this is most likely not your handset, but in rare cases with certain phones, like blackberry handsets and some older symbian [vulnerable to hackers] can do this. So call your provider and get them to raise a fault through their networks, then if it fails, look into your handset.

you can unlock it, by going to the celphone shop that offer ringtones etc. they have a system that can unlock that, and after that other providers can be use.but you have to look for the shop that can with your model.

don't know about the display issue, but I had a similar problem with my 8915 and found that the mic was bad. It was fixed for a while by soldering a new one on the main board, but this may be a temporary fix at best since mine went bad again later.

The 8910 has no sim card - Cdma phones do not operate with a sim card or on gsm networks. The only way to activate this phone is by contacting the carrier/provider you wish to have service (must be cdma also) with and provide the unique serial no. to have them add it on their end. Some imei's cannot be activated because they have been reported as stolen and must be taken with the original receipt back to the vendor to have it unlocked. If this is not possible then the only way around this is to change the imei of the phone to one that is clear (cloning) but this is illegal to do and may disable certain functions of the phone as well.

gthis is a particularly finicky phone for data exchange - though I can fairly guarantee you can get files off the phone, uploading to it is another matter... You might need to find some additional software to access the filesystem of your phone as well. Either an early version of bitpim (7.x works) or qpst (I found qpst easier but its hard to find. If you need, I can send it) I had trouble getting my machine to see the phone at first, as it required some adjusting the hardware in the device manager. Is your cable futuredial or curitel?
