Frigidaire FMT144G1 Microwave Oven Questions & Answers
New microwave 1.1 cubic
runs fine
Microwaves usually have a 30 day return. You should take it back and exchange it, if you try to work on it that will void the warranty.
What causes a microwave oven failure to heat up
It sounds like the magnetron may have
either failed or is not being supplied with the extremely high
voltage required to run it.
YOUR
SAFETY IS PARAMOUNT
This is a job for a professional but if
you are safety clued up, here's instruction.
Make sure the !!!!any
capacitors are discharged!!!!! before attempting any sort of
repair.
Check the door interlock switches first then the high
voltage diode with either an AVO model 8 or moving coil meter on high
resistance range for short circuit, (DVM's won't show the fault!),
the capacitor can fail and go short circuit, the feed fuse on the
primary of the high voltage transformer and then finally, the
magnetron is best checked by substitution.
Hope that helps.
Not sure this is the model. Bought used Frigidaire
Hello,
Microwave has a high power rating, the box where microwave is plugged should be a separate outlet from any other home appliances, i think the wiring of your fan and lighting point wires are with the wiring of the outlet where the microwave is been plug, if so, get a technician to help separate the lighting point wire and fan wire from the microwave outlet. With this, you should not experience such again.
Take care.
I heard a loud pop and then my microwave could
The microwave has a high voltage transformer that raises the 115V coming from your wall up to about 3000V that then powers a magnetron tube responsible for heating your food. If their is a short, this transformer will discharge making aloud pop and often fry anything it discharges into. Because this is more than enough to kill somebody, there is a fuse that will blow. As a result, while the fan and light are working and as a result your microwave appears to run normally, in actually it's just the fan and the light. Anything the would make heat is disabled and potentially damaged.
Two issues you would need to address this. First, the fuse will have to be replaced. Secondly, you will need to identify where your short is. Personally I recommend taking it to a certified repairman, or buying a new one.

we regularly repair nationwide by mail for $39.95 postpaid in about a week or so.This light failure often occurs when a bulb goes out and the filament
shorts, or when the bulbs are removed or installed without first
unplugging the oven from the power line. Either can cause such a
failure on the controller. This can often also affect the exhaust fan, cooling fan, turntable, and/or inside light operation, too.Details of our service are at
our Web site, along with a video showing how to remove a typical
over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes. We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.William E. Miller[email protected]http://www.microwavedisplay.com
Microwave activates and sounds fine (no unusual noises) but nothing is heated.
You could have a number of problems in this unit BUT let me WARN you of the extremly high voltage inside this unit first!.. Theres a capacitor and a diode connected together that holds a charge that could be open , Theres a magnatron or the magnatron thermal cutouts that could have went bad. Theres a relay on the control board that could have went bad so therefor the control board could be bad. The power transformer for the Hi voltage could have went bad but not likely unless you seen or smelled alot of smoke or oder before it went bad. Unfortantly, these days a good microwave, to have fixed, is about or almost 3/4 the price of a new one. Without troubleshooting the unit with a multi-meter your really shooting in the dark with what part is bad as it could also be a combination of parts bad that I described. If you think its worth it, take the thing in for an estimate, but I would highly advise against you doing it unless your famillar with the dangers and the high voltage points. Good Luck
Digital display lighting
The solution depends first on the type of display your microwave has. Please refer to the picture.
The left side shows a partially defective LCD type display. If you have this type of display, we regularly repair them for $32.50 nationwide.
The right side is a VFD type display which is weak due to age. On some brands and models, we are able to get a replacement display tube and repair it to a like-new brightness.

My Frigidaire gallery convection microwave keeps blowing its fuses
fuses inside oven, sure. (i had to guess)
all UWAVE do that when the 3 or 4 door switches CONTRADICT.
this is so it does no cook a persons eyeballs.(no really )
what we do is replace them all as a set,
4x5=$20 set.
I am on my 3rd set here, ( 18 year span)
so i even bought a new whole spare fuse panel (behind the controller) with new switch set pre loaded.all -in- one fix.
then when it fails i can replace it all in 30min flat.
mine is built in fancy uwave and do not want top put in any alien Uwave here and now wood cabinets must be modified.
see?
good luck,
Frigidaire pleb27m9ecd built in oven/microwave. The oven works fine. The plug on the oven that microwave plugs into is not working.
It sounds like you may have an issue with the plug that connects the microwave portion of your Frigidaire PLEB27M9ECD built-in oven/microwave to the electrical supply.
Here are a few things you can try:
- Check the power supply: Make sure that the oven/microwave is properly plugged into a working outlet and that the circuit breaker is not tripped.
- Inspect the plug: Look for any visible damage on the plug and make sure that the connections are secure.
- Check the wiring: Make sure that the wiring inside the oven/microwave is not damaged or loose.
- Test the outlet: Using a multimeter, test the outlet to see if it's providing power.
- Test the microwave: If you have access to a known good microwave, you can test the plug by plugging it into the known good microwave and see if it works.
If none of these solutions work, it's likely that there is an issue with the electronic control board or the plug itself, which will require professional repair.
It's best to contact the manufacturer or a professional technician for repair. They will be able to diagnose the issue more accurately and repair it.
My Frigidaire over the range microwave keeps blowing the fuse when I try to start it?
I had the same problem with this POS microwave. Bought it September 2019 and the plastic at top is brittle and breaking plus the door latch springs are WAY too stiff for this application. I'm 6'4" and it is hard for me to open and close. The spring tension causes the latches to slam down on the thin edge of the plastic catch causing divot wear. The INCESSANT beeping when food is done is worse than nails on a chalkboard plus there are Way too many levels and button presses to simply soften butter or cream cheese! What a TOTAL mess that I Absolutely regret buying! As for this issue with the blown fuses (on a 20 AMP circuit with nothing else on it); I read about replacing the switches so that is where I started but it didn't work. I noticed the wear in the latch catch so I ordered a replacement and that fixed the problem. I also found a video showing how to remove the door and change the latch. I did not need a new latch, but I did want to replace the spring. I have a box of springs at home and found one that was slightly shorter but the same diameter. It had about half the pull strength and now the door opens and closes reasonably! I hope this helps
Frigidaire Microwave Internal Light Bulb - HELP NEEDED PLEASE!
You are lucky!
MICROWAVE OVEN LIGHT Remove the louver per instructions 1-3 above and charcoal filter, if used.
1. To replace light bulb, first disconnect power to the microwave oven at the circuit breaker panel or by unplugging.
2. Open light cover located behind filter mounting by carefully pulling up on the front edge.
3. Remove old light bulb and replace only with equivalent watt bulb available from parts distributor. Bulbs are also available at most hardware stores or lighting centers. DO NOT USE BULB LARGER THAN 20 WATTS.
4. Replace the microwave oven light cover by carefully pushing into place. Replace the charcoal filter, if used. Push the louver back into place (engaging both the bottom and top tabs) and replace the louver mounting screw.
When in doubt, refer to the manual :>D
