Proofing will come on in middle of night
the machine turning itself on os very strange, needless to say very dangerous, without being there to see it happen it actually sounds as if there may be a short in the electronic keypad, mistakenly starting a cycle without you! although not familiar with this exact problem i would be curious to see if you press just the proofing button will the oven come on??? or do you need to press start, or set temp??? if indeed you are actually able to start the proofing by simply pressing te button one time (and no other buttons then i would conclude that you do indeed have an issue with the key pad , this particular keypad comes with the clock all together as one assy part number (4009980) assuming the model number you filed the complaint under is correct

Burner switches got wet, sparked, daughter put baking soda on them, and two front burners won't light.
I also got too much liquid into control switch area & had sparks. Mine needed a new electronic ignition system. I purchased my range in Jan 06 and they are covering it under warranty now, Nov 08. To open the top, unscrew 2 small screws inside the front top oven. Then unscrew all 5 burners (10 screws). Then you should be able to open the lid about 12". Repairman propped mine open with a screwdriver while he worked under there.

Jenn air range
1.black top nice and shiny, as far as streaks your gonna ahve to find a cleaner that works for you , i have a black cooktop and my wife uses clorox wiped to clean and then with paper towel wipes off and dries
2. as far as "saddle grill" calling the manufacture (number inside your manual) will be best source of info on that, of course unless you can find an aftermarket 3rd party maker

I have a Jenn-Air slide-in
i would NOT recommend putting grates in oven while self cleaning, dont even leave the racks in there!!!! ammonia supposedly cleans them pretty good, get yourself a plastic garbage bag and a measuring cup full of ammonia. place the grates in the bag and stand the cup up in the bag with them, close the bag and place on the back stoop over night. the FUMES do all the heavy work you rinse off under the sink.DO NOT pour over the grates but stand up the cup next to them.make sue to seal the bag as well!!!

Cleaning
The firstly the top is like a beautiful shiny black car. It dazzles the eye when clean, but shows every little mess and evaporation spot when it is not. The worse problem is grease. Both on the top and on what you wash and dry it with.
At the end of each day, I use a solution of dish washing detergent and hot water to clean the top. I let the solution sit on the top for several minutes, then rinse it off with a clean rag and hot water. Then I do it again. I use a paper towel to dry the top. At first, you think you are leaving streaks, but these are small evaporation trails. Just keep on drying and the steaks disappear.

No spark, I want to open to fix it.
The spark module may have failed. It is probably located under the top.
To remove top, the mounting screws for each burner assembly will have to be removed.
Each burner is secured to the top with 2 to 3 screws. It will be necessary to remove all screws on each burner in order to remove the top. USE CAUTION!. Do not force the screws if they seem tight. These screws will often corrode. Forcing them out could break them. The best method, if tight, is to move them back and forth (tighten a little, loosen a little, tighten a little, loosen a little etc.) until the corrosion breaks free.
Once the burners are removed, there may be two spring clips holding the front to the cabinet. Is so, insert a putty knife and push until the top comes free.
If you need further assistance, please let me know

Oven panel
First try unplugging or turning off the breaker and see what happens. If that fixes it your good to go if not you probably need a control board. Some of the boards have a fuse but no one changes it as it is soldered onto the control board.

Oven won't lock and self clean.
Shut off the oven for at least a minute and turn it on, set the clock, and it worked. I had tried a short power cycle before and it didn't fix it. The extended power cycle did the trick.

Stopping cold air
Depending on where it is vented you probably wont be able to stop the air. Take the grill out and see if there is a door flap that is supposed to close when the fan is off. If not your out of luck.

This is not a problem. The cleaning cycle goes on for approximately 4 hours as I recall. it will unlock by itself when done. Read your user guide for troubleshooting tips. if you can't locate your copy, one is available on line at the Jenn-Air site

Depending on where you purchased the range find out if it is satisfaction guaranteed then either get a new range delivered or your money back. You need a burner selector switch to solve the problem.
