Apple MacBook Pro 15" with Retina Display 2.3GHz MC975LL/A - Quad Core Intel Core i7, 2.3GHz, 8GB memory, 15-inch, 256GB flash storage Questions & Answers
I have a question mark on a file blinking have no internal disc only a external disc please help
The reason you are seeing the blinking question mark is that the computer is unable to find a disk with a usable version of Mac OS X on it. If you know for certain that the 256GB flash storage has Mac OS X try starting your computer without the external drive connected to it. If you still see a blinking question mark, then the Mac OS X installed on the 256GB SSD is corrupt and you have decisions to make.
1. You can get a friend with a Mac to download a copy of Mac OS X from the app store and burn it to a disk. You can then connect a dvd reader to your MacBook Pro, (if it does not have one built-in), and re-install Mac OS X on the flash drive. This will destroy whatever files you have on the disk. This is the shortest route to being able to use your machine again.
Another alternative is have Mac OS X burned to a USB drive and to boot your computer from that. This would give you a chance to save your files to an external drive before reinstalling Mac OS X on you Mac. (I have done this when an OS upgrade failed).
If you don't have a friend with a Mac, or feel uncomfortable following either of these two paths then I would suggest finding an Apple repair shop and letting them do the repair for you. I have no idea what it would cost so ask before committing yourself to the work.
If you live in an area with an Apple store, I would contact them to see if they can help you there. Good luck!

I dropped my mac lap top and the screen is a bit fuzzy, how can I fix it?
Thank for contacting Fixya, I will be glad to assist you. You cannot, without having a diagnostics performed by a certified Apple technician or Apple Authorized Service Provider. You may have damaged the video graphics card on the main logic board of your MacbookMacbook Pro.Unless you have knowledge on how to go in and physically troubleshoot this geniune hardware issue, I would recommend you do you to your local Apple retail store Genius bar, or Apple Authorized Service center near you and have your Macbook looked at.Just for your reference, I have taken the liberty to provide the store locator links to your local Apple Retail store as well as a general store locator for locating any local Apple Authorized Service center in your area.
Apple Retail Store(Genius bar - need to set appointment via this website link, if planning on visiting Apple store of choice in your immediate area)
Apple Authorized Service ProviderYou don't want to keep turning on the Macbook until you have it checked because it could affect more than just the video graphics card.Regards,-The MacTechTrainer.
I have a Sanyo Xacti 10 MP that records with date and time but when I put the SD card in my Apple laptop and download the videos, the date and time seems to not stay on the videos.
The date and time information may not be embedded in the video file itself, but rather in the metadata of the file. When you transfer the video from your camera to your computer, the metadata may not be transferred along with the video.
To preserve the date and time information on your downloaded videos, you can try the following:
- Use a video player that displays metadata: Some media players, such as VLC media player, allow you to view the metadata of a video file. If the metadata contains the date and time information, you may be able to view it using such a player.
- Transfer the video using a program that preserves metadata: Some file transfer programs, such as Image Capture on Mac, will preserve metadata when transferring files. You may try using such a program to transfer your videos.
- Use a metadata editor to add date and time information: You can try using a metadata editor, such as ExifTool, to add the date and time information to your video files.
It's worth noting that not all video file formats support metadata, so depending on the format of your video files, it may not be possible to preserve the date and time information.
How to factory reset iMac without login or keyboard?
To factory reset an iMac without a login or keyboard, you can try the following steps:
- Boot the iMac in Target Disk Mode: Connect the iMac to another Mac using a Thunderbolt cable. Power on the iMac while holding down the T key. The iMac should appear as an external disk on the other Mac.
- Reinstall macOS: Open the Disk Utility app on the other Mac and select the iMac disk. Choose "Erase" and follow the on-screen instructions to erase the iMac's drive. After erasing, quit Disk Utility and follow the on-screen instructions to reinstall macOS.

I have a new MacMini 2021 Monterrey O/S. I use Zoom but my Gear Head Webcam F#2 4.8mm is not on or is not connecting? IS it compatible with Apple Monterrey O/S?
It's possible that your Gear Head Webcam F#2 4.8mm is not compatible with the new MacMini 2021 running the Monterrey operating system (macOS Monterey).
The best way to check for compatibility is to visit Gear Head website and check for the compatibility list for the webcam with the MacMini 2021 running the Monterrey operating system. If the webcam is not on the list, it's possible that it may not be compatible with the new operating system.
If the webcam is not compatible with the new operating system, it may not be able to connect to the MacMini or be recognized by the Zoom app.
Alternatively, you can try connecting the webcam to the MacMini using a USB-C adapter and see if that resolves the issue.
You may also want to check if there is any new firmware update available for the webcam or the Zoom app that might resolve the issue.
If the issue still persists, it would be best to contact Gear Head customer support for further assistance and check if there is a way to make the webcam compatible with the new operating system or if there is any other solution that can be provided.
Unlock MacBook pro
