the only way is to block off/check the flapper., if your not going to use for the winter you can disconnect the vent from under the cabinet temporaily and close off there till you can gain access to check outside grill

Replace the burner and receptacle and you should be short free. You may also need to replace the surface element switch too if it doesn't come on at all or stays on high regardless off knob setting.

the back splash should be held on by silicone or glue very seldom are they screwed on i would bet it is stuck with adhesive silicone so score around the outside of the splash with a utility knife the remove it scoring around the outside will prevent sheet rock damage

you dont have this but it is ok to just hook up the white and green/ground wires together. then red to red and black to black. it will work properly and thats all you have to do.

the safest way for a home owner to do this is turn the main breaker off to the house that is the safest way. Then poll the cover plate off the box in th wall with the two screws. not the screws on the round conduit. I'm happy to say burnt milk can be removed with a combination of cerama bryte and let sit for one hour and then lots o elbow grease hard rubbling with also applying Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. one of the burner sensors is fused that burner must be replaced

Buying and learning to use an ohmmeter is best. You can also inspect both the harness and the burner for damage. If nothing is burnt or broken, then you probably need the switch. Hope this helps!

Yes, the entire unit must be lifted out - it is probably secured with screws underneath. Then you can remove the screws on the underside of the glass to access the switch. Hope this helps!

Perhaps, but sound safety says no. This generates a lot of heat in an enclosed space; the fan may be a nuisance but it is needed to keep the unit from getting too hot. Hope this helps!

those wires dont go to the down draft. those colors are to hook up the stove. do you have the instalation instructions?

Problem solved. Followed the instructions given and successfully changed the cooktop.

It turned out that the front control panel needed removal in order to access the screws behind it. After that it was clear sailing.
