Hi,
If the compressor is not running, it could be either a bad relay or compressor. This is not an issue with defrost components or temp. control .If you have experience in repairing appliances, could take all precautions necessary and use multimeter - You could do a continuity check on compressor motor and all combination's. An infinity value on multimeter would confirm bad compressor.
On the side of the compressor you will see a box
(maybe a cover) remove the cover if it has one and then remove the wire
harness. next you will see the relay with the capacitor mounted to it.
give the relay a tug and pull it off the side of the compressor. once
you have it off pull the capacitor off and then give the relay a shake.
If it rattles the relay is bad. if the relay does not rattle the
compressor is bad and you will need to call a service guy to replace the
compressor.
Let me know,if needed further assistance.
Hope i helped you.
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

You might try cleaning the condenser a lot of times they get too plugged up with dirt and dust and cause them to quit cooling.
Refrigerator not colding
The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent(damper) between the freezer and fridge. The fan in the freezer blows air through it. Make sure this fan is running. You may have to hold the door switch in for it to run. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp.
The problem could be the electronic control if you have one or the mechanical linkages.
If the evaporator coils behind the back panel of the freezer are icing up because of auto defrost failure that will stop the circulation of cold air and eventually affect the freezer too.
check defrost timer, defrost heater, defrost thermostat. In most newer models the timer has been replaced by an electronic control board. If the heater and thermostat are ok it'll be the control.
You can turn the defrost timer till it clicks and everything shuts down. The heater should now come on. If it does, replace the timer. If it doesn't, check the heater and defrost thermostat. Turn the timer again till everything starts back up to end the defrost cycle.
Your evaporator coils frost up in normal use and every eight hours or so the entire unit shuts down and the defrost heater comes on to melt the frost. This cycle last about 20 minutes. The melted frost drips into a drain pan and through a drain tube to the drain tray under the freezer/refrigerator where it's evaporated by the condenser fan.
I have a Kenmore side by side Model 25351694100
Usually when this happens its becasue the auger, located inside the ice bin itself, has came loose,or popped out of place. If you have the kind of ice bin that slides in, pull it out and dump th ice. You'll see a long, metal twisted rod that runs front to back. At the back side of it is a white cap that the rod attaches to and mounts in a hole in the ice bucket itself. Sometimes you can readjust it and it will work but sometimes you may have to buy a new bin if any of the plastic is broken. If you need further help, I’m available over the phone at

Ice forming on the panel
Improper air flow is your problem, Defrost it first. Then make sure that the fan inside is running, if it isn't, replace it. Repairclinic.com will have what you need, just search with your model number. Let me know if you need anything else.

Ice maker won't stop making ice. We put the metal
If the arm is up and locked in position, it should stop the ice maker. check that the bail arm is indeed pushed into the ice maker head, you will likely have to remove the ice maker with the 1-3 screws holding it in place, to see it. Check also that the other end of the bail arm is attached near the fill cup, if its not attached, that could be the reason. If the arm does not appear to lock in the upright position, or if it does and still does not stop ice production, you will need to replace the ice maker
No ice
Hi,
Here is a tip that I wrote about the reasons why ice makers do not work.

The
refrigerator temperature problem you are likely experiencing as well as the hot center strip and outer gasket edges is going to be due to one of three very likely issues. In order of simplicity and cost, the first thing to check is the condenser coil. The condenser can and often does get clogged with dust and pet hair, and needs to be fairly clear of any obstructions that will prevent it from dissipating heat as it is designed. If its full of dust and pet hair, unplug or turn off the unit, and clean with a vacuum and appliance vent brush. If its clear of dust, the next thing to check is the operation of the condenser fan motor. It is located near the compressor and its purpose is to blow cooling air onto the compressor and the condenser coil. This fan often fails, and is most likely your cause. Be sure to check this fan motor from the front, or before you move the cabinet. Sometimes moving it will get it going, but it will most assuredly stop again, so you are just delaying the inevitable. the last and most expensive thing is the compressor itself. If the condenser is clear of dust and pet hair and the condenser fan motor is running yet the compressor is still so hot that the part of the condenser that runs around the frame of the freezer, the yoder loop, is hot to the touch. If the first two are not your problem, you have a bad compressor most likely, and i would suggest having a reliable
refrigerator repair service company inspect it before replacing, unless it is possibly still under warranty.
