Switch contacts fused together

In most external fittings there is a live coming from the switch a neutral going back to the lighting ring main and an earth wire for protection

You are not competant to be rewiring any house wiring , the statement about the earth wire proves that.

No earth is akin to jumping into a lake without a life preserver on

Get an electrician involved before you burn the house down

I replaced the C3 capacitor on the circuit board as another person on FixYA had recommend and it works fine now. $4.00 versus $180.00 was worht the chance to try it.

The door switch is probably bad and not actually opening when you shut the door. Replace it.

Most likely its the EOC (electronic oven control), it needs to be replaced. If you self cleaned the oven a lot the very high heat generated fatigues computers in modern ovens.

Yes, this design catches all knids of things but it keeps those "crumbs" from getting inside the door facing. This also acts as an air relief for the oven.

If you have connected correctly and the ribbon cable is also fine then it seems that the touch pad is bad and should be replaced. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.
