Jenn Air oven model #

Hi,

There are a couple of steps you can do. First unplug the unit and check the wiring at the back. Next disconnect/reconnect the connectors at the control board. Check them for any visible problems.P4 on the board goes to the elements perhaps it is loose or has pulled something else loose. I think this is a long shot as the board is working and as far as I know there is not a separate power input to the board that just runs the display. For replacement of the part you can check the bellow link:

Oven digital display not working well

I got your fix no prob. This is going to cost you a buck fifty, that's $1.50, I say it again...one dollar and fifty cents! Got your attention yet?
Here's the solution to a dim display or non working display when the oven otherwise works.
1. Turn off your circut breakers to your oven, then remove the display and control panel via the screws you see on the top or underneith. There will be about 4-7 screws based on your model oven. You'll pull it either up or down depending on the model by grabbing with both hands on either side of the panal after you have removed the screws. 2. Carfully remove the three or four ribbon cables connecting the display panal to the oven electrically. This should be done carfully and only after the power is shut off to your ovens by the circut breaker or unplugging them. 3. Pull the display panel out by unlatching the black plastic snap holders. Using a soldering iron (costs about 15 bucks at radio shack), remove the C3 (68uF 35V) capacitor from the board. Replace it with the 100uF 35V capacitor from radio shack or digikey for $1.50 +tax. If you don't know how to solder, well you can learn for about 15 minutes of your time, or you'll have to resort to paying your repair man over 300 bucks to fix it himself and the best part. HE CAN'T SOLDER EITHER! He'll replace the whole display LCD because that's the most profitable choice for him and Jenn-Air/Matag. 4. After getting upset at how easy this fix was, put the oven together and rejoice that you just fixed your display problem for less then 2 dollars and about and hour of your time considering the search the brought you here. Cheers to you and to me for letting you know about this. Share all the knowledge you have with others. It's free money!

F1 in temp window plus

F1 touch pad / ERC test This simple test will help determine whether the ERC (Electronic Range Control or Clock) or the touch pad is defective when F1 error code is present.

Note: Some models incorporate the touch pad in to the ERC as a single assembly, in which case this test is not necessary. Simply replace the ERC (Clock).

Warning: If you feel in any way uncomfortable performing this test or making this repair, please contact a qualified appliance repair technician.

1. Disconnect power to the range (unplug the range power cord or turn the power off to the range at the circuit breaker). It is very important that the power to the range has been disconnected, so please double check before continuing.
2. Gain access inside the control panel.
3. Disconnect the touch pad (also called keypad or membrane switch) ribbon from the ERC.
4. Make sure there are no lose wires, or anything else that may cause a short when power is turned back on. Assemble the control panel back the way it was.
5. Turn the power back on.
6. Wait for at least one hour to see if the F1 code comes back (usually accompanied by a beeping sound).
7. If F1 comes back, replace the ERC. If it does not, replace the touch pad.

Our SVE47500 or SVE47600 oven

This sounds like you somehow got a little moisture in the controls. With any luck, after it sits for awhile it will dry out and begin working again. Turn your circuit breaker off and let it sit for about an hour to see if you have any luck. It is possible to speed up the drying process by using a hair dryer aimed at your control panel. Use the cold setting on your hair dryer. Repost back here and let me know how you made out. We can trouble further if your unit still does not work.

I clean the bottom oven

Hi - welcome to FixYa.

This is a common problem after the self-clean cycle. The temperatures generated during the self-clean cycle are so high that they can damage the electrics and/or the locking mechanism. The manufacturers include the feature as a selling-point but many experience appliance enginners recommend you don't use this feature at all.

There are a couple of simple things to try in order to get it unlocked, but if they don't work you will probably need a service call as access needs to be gained to unlock the door manually. This usually involves removal of the control panel or other parts of the oven. Even after the door has been unlocked it's likely to need a new locking mechanism or some wiring replaced.

Try these simple remedies if you haven't done so already:

1. Turn the power off at the breaker and leave it off for at least 5 minutes. Then switch back on and try opening the door again. If this doesn't work try cycling the breaker on and off about 5 times - turn it off each time, leave it for 5 minutes, then switch off and try the door again.

If this doesn't work, you are unlikely to get it open without removing parts of the oven. You can also try this- it is not recommended by some engineers, but it has worked in some cases:

1. Run the self-clean cycle again
2. Allow it to run for 10-15 minutes maximum.
3. Cancel the self-clean cycle using the "Cancel" button on the control pad
4. Wait for the oven to cool down for up to an hour
5. Try opening the door

Personally, I recommend you get an engineer if cycling the breaker on and off doesn't work. It's unlikely you will be able to obtain the parts and get them fitted by yourself in time for Thanksgiving dinner. An engineer is more likely to be able to obtain the parts quickly and fit them before Thursday.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
BElectric

To be honest with you there are no parts available for your oven. I would recommend you replace with a new unit.

Good Luck

I have a jenn-aire oven that the oven temp is 50

You cannot to that degree of difference. You need to replace both oven sensors to remedy this. Part is very inexpensive, easily replaced and available at any appliance parts supply house. Looks like a small rod in the corner of the oven. If temp is still off then you can make a minor adjustment to the control.

You can change the 'offset' by doing this if you want: Select a bake temp above 500
Press Bake pad and hold it for 4 secs and release it
Press the number keys to get the temp difference you have in the display
Use the broil key to make it either add or subtract the amount you entered so the displayed temp will match your reading.
IF you mess up just repeat the process again as it can be done as many times as you want.
Maximum change allowed is 35 deg.

Thanks!

Hi

You'll need to check the oven temperature sensor and the contacts on the power relay board (PRB). You'll need a multimeter to check the resistance of the temperature sensor, multimeter would read between 1140-1150 ohms. If you notice any deviation in the reading then you'll need to replace the temperature sensor. Hope this helps... Please post back with model # if you need more information.

Oven beeps with f7 code , replaced display pcb .

hello,

(indication of problem)

This error code on a oven indicates a keypad short on the Electronic Range Control (ERC) board. This is the clock/timer on the operator console. The recommended fix is to replace the ERC. You can generally find replacement parts at these websites:
searspartsdirect.com pcappliancerepair.comappliancepartspros.com repairclinic.com
All these sites offer great service with competitive pricing, so shop and compare.
Replacing an ERC is not a difficult repair and can be accomplished by the average do-it-your self offer. If you decide to order the part and wish to repair this on your own, follow these steps:
1. UNPLUG the range. Dangerous voltage is still present inside even with the range turned off.
2. Pull the range away from the wall and turn the unit around so you can access the rear panel.
3. Remove the screws on the back of the operator console.
4. Carefully disconnect the connector plugs to the ERC. Take note of how they are connected, so that you can reinstall them correctly.
NOTE: The connectors are usually color coded with the colors printed on the circuit board. However, if the colors are not printed on the board, write them down. (A digital camera also comes in real handy for this).
5. With the connectors removed, remove the mounting screws to the ERC and the assembly will come out.
NOTE: Most replacement ERC boards do not come with the overlay. This is the plastic pre-printed number display. The overlay can easily be peeled off and re-used. Just make sure you properly orient the overlay so that you don't inadvertently place it on the new board upside down. If your existing overlay is damaged, you will need to order separately.
6. Install new ERC using the steps provided in reverse order. Minimize handling the new circuit board with your bare hands to avoid damaging the board.
I hope this information helps you.

thank you for using fixya.
