First, let me apologize for brenda. Some people can't help being jerks.
Second, no one at FixYa ever told you to ship anything anywhere. You need to contact the company to whom you shipped the tuner. FixYa cannot give you the status on an item you shipped to another company.

Password problem
Hi there,
The password is for the parental control feature.
For the Poaroid dra-01601a the password is 3-3-0-8 type this in using the number pad then press ok. If you press setup on the remote then press down till you get to ATV/DTV then press right arrow button to highlight DTV Parental control, press enter then a dialogue box will appear this is where you can input the password code. Select V Chip and press ok, you will then have the option to select which content controls to use in the menu you will see Block enable, use the down arrow to highlight this then press the right and left buttons to turn either on or off. to exit this setup press 6.
Hope this helps,
James

My polaroid recorder/player drm 2001g
My research has not been able to turn up a firmware upgrade, nor a remote control code for resetting your DRM-2001G. From the forums I've searched it seems the usual reset procedures apply: remove any disc from within the player, and unplug the unit for several minutes, then restore power to reset. Additionally, the manual does specify that there is factory reset option within it's setup menu screens. From what I read, anyone who couldn't reset their unit from your symptoms by simply unplugging it, returned their unit for replacement.
I don't like coming up empty, and finding the remote code that you mentioned a tech gave you would have allowed me to help a number of other people, so I actually tried to call their canadian 1-800 number. It was, of course, out of service. I can't access the US number but if you'd like to try its 1-866-289-5168.
I was unclear from your post if the player was getting stuck loading a particular disc, or if it was stuck on the 'welcome' screen even with no disc loaded. I understand that if the system hang is independent of having a disc loaded, the setup menu reset is inapplicable to your situation.
I hope that helps.
