If there is a +/- 3 volts difference between the UPS and the extended run module E0 alarm would be indcated.

Below are recommended steps that will help narrow down the E0 fault. First we will diagnose the XR Frame, the Anderson Connector, and the Communication Card. Then you will reseat the XR Communication Card. Then we will slowly introduce the batteries into the XR Frame to see if anyone of the batteries is causing the issue. Step 1: Remove all of the batteries from the XR Frame. Step 2: Disconnect the XR Frame from the UPS by removing both the Anderson connector and the RJ14 Communications Cable. Step 3: Reseat the Communications Card from the rear of the XR Frame. --> You may need a flat head screwdriver to remove the 2 thumb screws located on the far left and right of the card. --> You will also want to make sure that the Black Frame # selector (small black rectangle with a small white arrow)is switched to the correct number -- in your case 2. This switch is located on the card you just reseated. Step 4: Allow the UPS to see that the XR Frame was removed. --> You can verify this by using the Powerview display: Menu > Diags > Batteries > *here you will have the option to select 'FRAME 1 OF 1' or '1 OF 2' ... You want it to say 1 of 1. Step 5: Reconnect the RJ14 Cable. Step 6: Reconnect XR Frame, with no batteries installed. --> You will want to make sure that the XR Frame comes online by itself. You should see the frame number in red letters/numbers and you will see a green light on the Communications Card. If the XR Frame does not come on then you may have a problem with the Anderson Connector, the RJ14 Cable, or the Communications Card itself -- contact me for help here. Step 7: If the XR Frame is on, reintroduce the batteries into the XR Frame one at a time making sure that you can see the number of batteries increase in the Powerview Display. --> If the E0 error appears again after introducing a battery, then remove the battery, set it aside, and continue inserting the remaining batteries. Repeat this step if the E0 error appears with another battery. If the problem is fixed and you had to set aside batteries -- then all you will need to obtain replacement batteries -- contact me for a quote. Depend on model. For 600VA and above Go to APC site and check model of replacement battery. Peel open the front plastic panel and unscrew 2 screws of metal panel. Batteries can be slid out and replacement done when PC is online. Only two wires to disconnect and connect.

APC.com have many here. there are fuses inside that blow too. not just the rear breaker. fails with NO Loads cables connected at all? 1: batteries shorted or dead. short overload it . there is a battery fuse, easy or hard to find ,easy on my loved smt750C. the true model of you UPS is not front stamps but the rear label tells the truth. 2: turn it on with not batteries yet, some turn on with error light or on mine LCD hard text errors,. no bats. 3: that is about it besides bad PCB. let it charge overnight, (new real or new from ebay not new) never assume it is charged new. make sure rear AC circuit breaker on it is not tripped makes sure battery fuse not blown make sure battery lugs not rusty. learn how to bench charge any AGM battery like this at 3amps max, ? the batteries are bad now. for sure parked like that. kills themn.

no real model told , off rear sticker, (tell sticker model first) 420va no country told no line voltage told in your country Did you buy the ups from wrong country(oops) and it has higher input voltage spec and yours is lower input? (real) nobody can guess what's up there. history and all that and location, voltages are not the same word wide at all nor frequency 50/60Hz did you buy a used UPS. if yes from where ebay, and from wrong country or it ran for years and fails now. or outputs overloaded on it.

UPS battery must not be bad, <<< read 3 times. all loads removed. no laptop needs UPS a laptop has its own inside. UPS is now dead? as you may know all things made on earth with firmware (or BIOS) when updated, can cause it to brick, vast ways. 10-20 ways on PC but on this UPS mostly 3 ways. not following the manuals instruction step by step, guessing fails battery bad. UPS has other errors, , the log file errors must NONE, using powerchute app to see them. or internet dies mid stride. bad luck there.

APC does not produce BOM s ever. bills of materials, (a secret so china can not steal the design,dig) nor real schematics. i bet those caps are shorted. and QA19 is the victim not cause. 99% of the time bingo. or got hit by lighting or plugged in 120vac UPS to 208v line. oops, that be BAD, buy used UPS on ebay and use it for spare parts ,as APC does not sell FRM this level, (devices on PCB )
