My machine was stuck on rinse cycle now on ventilate...

Late yesterday we tried to rinse our Gaggia titanium. The machine was stuck on rinse. We went through 3 full containers of water. Before going to bed we shut the machine off. This morning same thing..It finally stopped rinsing and now it is stuck on ventilate. We followed the directions in the manual and still it is stuck on ventilate. Does anyone know what is going on with it? Of coarse this happens on a holiday weekend when there is no technical support available. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Try first to continue filling up the water resovoir (UP TO FOUR times) to see if the machine completes the rinse cycle on its own. If that doesn't work contact Gaggia Customer Service in the US at 888-389-4123. Sally there was VERY helpful and should be able to resolve your problem.

Ventilate

My machine was turned off overnight. When I turned it back on the word ventilate appeared. I have followed the manual to rectify the problem, however no hot water or steam will come out of the nozzel (this is how you get rid of the ventilate message) What else can I try? It has been on for 2 hours now saying, ventilate with hot water flashing above it.

I fixed my ventilate problem! After 2 days of utter frustration and pushing many buttons, I read another guest comment about resetting to factory settings. Push the up button under the small coffee icon. It should say factory setting with the asterick next to it. Push OK. Then push "yes" for factory settings. Then my machine started working again! Hallelujah! It erased my personal coffee cup setting, but who cares.

Big thanks to the person who posted their solution on Dec. 2007.

Andy15 - Thanks - you encouraged me to do this myself.   I made a video as I did my repair.  The video making was more work than the replacement of the steam valvle.   Please check out my video if you have have to make the same repair.   Also - the technical support from WholeLatteLove was great.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8UgVBoFd5aE

Coffee Beans Empty - but the hopper is full!

The grinder whirs around as if it was grinding beans for about 20-30 seconds but then it just stops and reports a "coffee beans empty" on the display.  I have vacuumed out the grinder to remove any possible stuck material, this seemed to worked once, but now it just isn't working.
Help!

Caffeind...the problem is likely still some bean remnants stuck in a switch which is causing the problem. Get some newspaper and open it up on a flat surface. Invert the grinder and give it a couple of thumps on the newspaper. The chips should loosen up and fix it. Remember, beans are both sharp in shape and oily in makeup...perfect for getting stuck.

Gaggia Titanium stuck on RINSING CYCLE

The machine is stuck on the Rinsing Cycle which I cannot find a way of stopping / breaking. Often pressing buttons / button combinations at switch-on will cause various test modes to be started. Pressing buttons 24 & 26 at switch on will cause a button / component test mode to be started, but none of this helps. I suspect that a sensor or similar is stuck / broken. I am still left with a Rinsing Cycle which is continous and will empty a full water tank if left on.
Also the central coffee dispenser unit (fig22) cannot be removed, strongly suggesting something is stuck and preventing its removal.
Can anyone help with this ?

Hi
Try reprogramming the button that is dispensing to much.
Push and hold the button for the coffee you want, but hold it all the way through the process. Don’t release the button until you get the amount of coffee you want for that button, then release the button. That should get you the same amount next time. You can do this for each coffee button.
If that doesn’t fix it, then you might need a new flow meter.

Machine is probably not in the fully "at rest" position. See if you can get the tray in without any other parts on it. Sometimes the waste grounds bin will foul on the mechanism if brewing unit has not stopped in the correct position. Once the bare tray is in and activating the switch the machine will realign itself when turned on.
