What video adapter card is compatible with Seagate ST3400620AS HDD

There are many things you need to consider before purchasing a new graphics card. First you need to know what type of graphic card is compatible with your motherboard and how much space you have inside of the PC tower. Since newer cards use a lot of power, it is also important to check your PCs power supply. The simplest way to find out what type of graphic card is compatible to your motherboard is by looking at the expansion slot and power specifications in the motherboards manual. Locate your motherboard's manual. If you don't have one then open up your web browser and enter your motherboard or PC's manufacturer's website. Go to the support page on the manufacturer's website and enter your motherboard's model number. Download the motherboard's manual from the support page. Look for the "expansion slot" section in the manual to check the motherboards expansion slot specifications. If your motherboard uses a AGP expansion slot then write down the version (1.0, 2.0 and 3.0), and the bandwidth (1x, 2x, 4x or 8x). If your motherboard uses a PCI Express expansion slot then write down the amount of lanes (x1, x4, x8 or x16). Look for the "Power Supply" specifications in the manual and write down the power supply's voltage (3.3V,5V or 12V). http://www.nvidia.com/object/hardware_support.html or Determining a compatible graphics card Download, install and run SiSoftware's Sandra (see link Below) http://download.cnet.com/SiSoftware-Sandra/3000-2086_4-10556571.html Free to try $49.99 to buy to find out information on your motherboard. Click the "Mainboard Information" icon, then write down the information next to "Manufacturer" and "Model." Navigate to the motherboard manufacturer's website. If you are not sure of the website's URL, enter the manufacturer's name into a search engine to find the company's website. Go to the support page and enter your motherboard's model. Download the motherboard's manual or review the specifications. Search the manual or specifications for "Expansion slot," "AGP" or "PCI Express." If the expansion slot uses AGP, note the version (AGP comes in 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0), as well as the bandwidth (1x, 2x, 4x or 8x). If the expansion slot uses PCI Express, note the amount of lanes (x1, x4, x8 or x16). Search the manual or specifications for "Power," "PSU" or "Power Supply." Write down the power supply's voltage (3.3V, 5V or 12V) and amp rating (designated by "A"). Not all manufacturers list the amp rating in their documentation, so you may need to contact the manufacturer for more assistance. Compare the graphics card you want to buy to the motherboard's expansion slot. AGP cards won't work in motherboards using PCI Express, and vice versa. Similarly, AGP 3.0 cards won't work in motherboards using AGP 1.0. A PCI Express x8 card will not fit in a PCI Express x1 slot. Check the voltage and amperage of the video card to the voltage and amperage on your motherboard. A video card that requires a higher amp rating requires a powerful PSU. or you might download this free version http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&frm=1&source=web&cd=4&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0CEAQFjAD&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.filehippo.com%2Fdownload_sandra_lite%2F&ei=-nofU4SfAca2kgXV-oHoAg&usg=AFQjCNEyYUGLL5zPj4HwypFgd_gBUq8Edw&bvm=bv.62788935,d.dGI Sandra Lite 2014 SP1a (20.21)

What is the power supply

Go to any computor store and ask for an ATX power supply. You usually want the highest wattage you can afford. You will need to know only if you have the old style hard drive or CD drive power connectors. Are they a four wire with a white block connector, or a 1/2 inch wide red or orange with a slim L connector.
Will cost you about $50 - 60

What power supply is compatible

Hello vonii94,

Welcome, and thank you for using FixYa!

To answer your questions, the sky is the limit! :)

Any modern power supply you would purchase, as long as it is ATX Compatible, will fit this box.
I recommend at least a 750Watt so that you have growing (upgrading) room in the PC. Antec and Cooler Master make some nice ones.

www.newegg.com or www.tigerdirect.com

Have a great day!

WHAT IS A COMPATIBLE POWER

The CoolerMaster CAC-T05-UW computer case is a Mid-Tower computer case.

It supports (Uses) power supply's that are the ATX form factor.

[Motherboards dimensions are stated as Form Factor. What Form Factor is the motherboard.
The term Form Factor is used erroneously for Power Supply's, and computer cases,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computer_form_factor ]

The ATX form factor dimensions for a Power Supply is approximately,
A) 6 inches Wide. { Width} (15.24 Centimeters)
B) 5.5 inches Long {Length} (13.97 Centimeters)
C) 3.5 inches Tall {Height} ( 8.89 Centimeters)

The ATX form factor for a power supply, also denotes what power cables are used.

A) One 20 or 24-pin ATX main power cable.
(Power supply's sold now, have an ATX main power cable that can be used as a 20-pin, or a 24-pin. You simply use, or do not use the four extra pins,

http://www.playtool.com/pages/psuconnectors/connectors.html#atxmain20plus4

B) One 4-pin ATX +12 Volt power cable,

http://www.playtool.com/pages/psuconnectors/connectors.html#atx12v4

C) At least one SATA power cable. Better power supply's have two, or more,

http://www.playtool.com/pages/psuconnectors/connectors.html#sata

D) Two, or more 4-pin standard Peripheral power cables. Better power supply's usually have four,
(Misnomered as 'Molex'. The name stuck just like Crescent wrench for an adjustable open-end wrench),

http://www.playtool.com/pages/psuconnectors/connectors.html#peripheral

[Don't forget that if you need a certain power cable, and the Power Supply doesn't have it, you can use an adapter power cable on two 4-pin standard Peripheral power cables ]

E) 4-pin small Peripheral power cable. Used in the older computers for a Floppy Drive. Used now for a Card Reader,

http://www.playtool.com/pages/psuconnectors/connectors.html#floppy

I'm going to state that approximately 80 percent of personal computers out there use an ATX form factor power supply.

(The rest use a smaller size of power supply, or a different shape.
This was brought about so desktop computers could be made smaller.
Less space is needed for the computer tower in the room.

BAD design, computer manufacturers, and people who desire this.
Most personal computers are cooled by AIR, except for the gamer computers that may use Water, or Nitrogen, or refrigerant.
You need a Mid-Tower, or Full-Tower computer case, or you're going to have problems down the road)

ATX power supply's are sold everywhere.

The things you need to consider, besides what form factor for the Power Supply, is what Wattage, and how much Amp's will the 12 volt power rails handle.

A decent Power Supply now should have at least 500 Watts, and the 12 volt power rail/s should handle at least 24 Amps. (24A)

{Some Power Supply's are listed as having multiple 12 Volt power rails.
Check to see what Each 12 volt power rail listed, will handle in Amperage.
Add ALL 12 volt power rail Amp's up for a total.
This is what the 12 Volt power rail amperage will be.

I'll show an example in an added Comment}

For additional questions please post in a Comment.

What power supply is compatible

Good Day

The same model also comes standard with a 390w power supply. However it all depends on what you are using the Desktop for, what you want the power supply features to do and what you install in the casing. Amything above 390w will do for general desktop work. If a gaming desktop, anything above 500w should do. You should obviously use the same brand Cool Master power supply but most brands should fit. Take a picture of the back of the case where the power supply fits and take it with you to a store if not sure.

here is a ling to give you some ideas. http://www.coolermaster-usa.com/category.php?category_id=22

Hi, welcome to FixYa.

Currently, your motherboard only support Intel Core 2 family (not the newest Core i, even the Core i Sandy Bridge series). Here's the list of the supported CPU that your motherboard support.

For the memory, I recommend you that a very good brand such Team Elite, Corsair, or else. Here's the list of supported memory:

http://download.gigabyte.asia/FileList/Memory/motherboard_memory_ga-965p-ds3_3.3.pdf

For power supply, you can take ThermalTake or CoolerMaster power supply, I recommend you take at least 500W as your power supply.

As for the VGA (video), it's up to your need, but I recommend you to take HIS as their cooling devices is very good.

Sorry I can't give you the model number, there's a lot of it.

Thanks for using FixYa!

What is the suitable power

Switch mode power supplies have standard mountings. You select your power supply by the wattage you require. If you are not installing any other devices in your desktop then select a power supply with same total wattage or more than the originsl power supply.
I suggest you take the original power supply with you when you go and purchase a new power supply so the power connectors are the same as the ones in the original power supply.
