It sounds like you need a bigger hard drive, try remove other program that you can install back in again, backup the computer install a bigger hard drive and restore the backup file. I recommend using Acrois software for the backup. You can also download from Cnet a free verison on mini partition to resized the drive once you restore the backup.
What is the indication of led lights
As in my other answer, check for blown capacitors on the motherboard. Sounds like there is a power issue with your onboard graphics. You could try another video adapter (PCI or AGP only, these are the slots available to you.)

Default password bios
Sirice,Unfortunately, there are no default bios passwords that Dell puts into the system. If you need to reset the password please contact Dell Support. The fan failure alert on your Dell, is caused by the timings. There is no bios settings, for this. You need a new fan that runs at 1400rpm or more. This will solve the problem, also a clean install solves this problem. Best to buy a new quite fan, keep the 5pin header from the old fan copy the wire colour for the pins, make sure the fan is pwm. In the worst case, you will have to change fan, and overwrite harddrive and do a clean os install. This will fix problem, other methods, like fan speed software will redduce the fan speed cook your motherboard, but will not solve the fan failure alert. Also enter bios by pressing f2 and clear log error before you install new fan and os.l
