Thermador PGR366 Gas Kitchen Range - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
What do I do when a burst pipe douses my range?
1 Turn off the Power at the Circuit Beaker. It is a safety hazard!
2 Unplug it.
3 Take it outside and let it sit in the hot sun for several days with the oven door open.
Moisture makes circuit boards do strange things. If nothing burnt up internally while the power was on, drying it out will solve the problem.
When it is completely dry.
4 Make sure the power is still off.
5 Plug it in.
6 Turn the power back on.
7 If it doesn't work;
Check your flood and homeowners insurance. It may be covered.
Buy a new one or call a professional.
What type of tool is
hello, that brass nut under the burner cap that holds the burner base is removed by a 13/16" socket,if it doesn't come off its "baked on" due to the heat,in that case it must be cut off or drilled out using a dremel rotaty tool with a cutoff wheel or i have found them to be easier to remove by drilling out using a tapered unibit drill bit,in either case the burner base to will need to be replaced since it will be damaged by cutting/drilling it
Good luck,
Gene
Thermador PD36 dual fuel range
There is no PD36 model. There are several PRD36 models of electric/gas ovens and in all of them the gas supply is common to all the top burners - all the control valves connect directly into a manifold/main gas tube.
If you can't lit those 2 burners with an external flame it means that the supply of gas to them has been cut by a blockage on the manifold - it's extremely unlikely that 2 valves have failed at the same time or that the 2 safety wires to them have failed simultaneously . The oven will have to be dismantled and the case of the blockage found and removed - if necessary the entire manifold will have to be replaced. This is a very complicated job that requires extensive experience - most likely you will have to call a repairman .
How to re install oven door
There are two pieces of metal that are inserted into the hinge slots on the body of the oven, the spring (upper) and the hinge. Before you can re-install the door, you have to clip these two together by laying the door handle side down and then using all of your body weight to push down on the spring arm, using gloves and a wadded up rag to soften the impact to your hands, and then clip the two pieces of metal together using the little hinged clip on the hinge piece and the slot on the spring piece. When you've clipped these together on both sides, lift the door and insert the metal pieces into the two respective metal slots on either side of the oven body. when they're in as far as you can push them, use a flat edged screwdriver to release the clip and close the door. Good luck, it may take a couple of tries and be careful of the spring, because it can snap back and hurt you if the clip comes off prematurely.
I have a 6 burner,
Hello,
Welcome to
FixYa.
Based on the info you've provided in your post, specifically
"The left-front burner (extra-low burner) doesn\'t spark and its gas doesn\'t turn on."
...I suspect you've got a faulty potentiometer ( burner switch for Xtra lo burners). Especially since you've stated the other burners are all OK, that pretty much rules out the simmer control and ignition module.
This is what I'm referring to...
Thus if it fails no current flows and the gas coil won't open and the ignitor won't spark.
Replacing the part can be fairly involved as it requires removing the front control panel of the range, you may want to call a pro, If not let me know and I'll try to assist you in any manner I can going forward.
I also have a service manual for most of the professional ranges from Thermador, even if not exactly like yours the operation and disassembly/service will be the same. I could only provide that via email though so you'd need to post an email address, your call.
I'll watch for your post and we can go from there. Thank's for visiting FixYa today. Good luck.
Regards,
Macmarkus :)
Oven wont spark
There is a few things that you want to check \... are your top elements lighting with no problems
if they are that eiminates one of the problems /// if they are not lighting then you need to replace the spark module on the unit usually located on the rear of the unit or in the control panel... the oven normally is ran by a hot surface ignitor are both the broil and bake not working or just the bake portion... you need to open the oven and remove shelfs normally you can remove the bottom plaet of the oven and get to the lighting componets... check to see if you have a ignitor in this area...if you do with the oven turned on you should see it start to glow if you do not you have a bad ignitor and can confirm by pulling the wires and removing the porcelein wire nuts and checking voltage to the ignitor which should be 120 volts... if you do indeed have a spark modulle down low check the spark module for cracks or poor ground to unit..lightly sand with some light grit sand paper ...is it sparking at all if it is then possible the regulator/gas valve has failed ,but normally if this is the case the top will not work... hope this helps repost with more info and any other questions you may have

Problem: Oven light
Hi,
It looks like you just remove the front panel and the switch is right there...
It is part number 418325 and the position number on the diagrams is 0208
Go to the
Thermador site and you can check it all out or order parts there...
You can also call them directly @ 1-800-735-4328
Oh....and the switch does not affect the operation of the oven in any way other then just turning the light on and off...

How do I know if the appliance store actually
You should have voiced your concerns long ago with the store you purchased it from. But if they did not convert it, you would have large, yellow flames.Proper burner flames will have no yellow in them. They should be only a blue flame.
Conversion from electric to lp gas
Simple answer NO.
Unless Jenn-air has a conversion kit. (highly doubt this)
It would be a serious undertaking to switch out 2 burners for LP use.
Gas tubes, igniters, electronics, regulator, gas jets.
Not to mention the modifications changes needed to the stove top to make all this work. That gas regulator has to go somewhere and piping from tank/regulator/burners.
Not saying it can't be done mind you.
But think about it long and hard before committing to this job.
Small gas leak can become a huge headache later.

Flashing Lights on Thermador Oven/Range
the lights flashing in a sequence indicates the error code. The error codes indicates what the problem is with your stove. Based on the response to your message, it sounds like their error code is 12, one then two. It is not clear what your error code is.
There is an explanation of the error codes on the wiring diagram that comes with the stove. I found the wiring diagram for my stove taped to the inside of the kick plate. The kick plate had to be removed to find it.
my oven is not working either. the error code I get is 34. I am told by a technician that error code indicates that the computer is not recognizing that the cooling fan is operating, which is why my oven will not work.
When I try and order a new cooling fan from Thermador, the website says that it is temporarily out of stock. Obviously, other people are having the same problem I am.
