oh you meant monitor doesn't come on.

if its a KNOWN good board next look to the power supply, video card, and ram.. lastly the CPU they fail less often but CAN fail.

make sure that you only have a video card hooked up and try booting into the bios. Let it sit there for a little while, this will tell if there's a power supply issue.

Also make sure the fan to the power supply is running as well as the fan over the CPU.

It sounds like something is overheating and then putting the system in standby mode.

you have 2 pins and can upgrade your memory to MAX 2GB.

yo, try to clean the gold contact of your video card and RAM by an eraser... then put it back to it's position in the motherboard make sure that it is connected firmly...

go to biostar web sight and download sata driver. You may need to run disk that came with motherboard first. Driver may be located on the disk. if not get it from biostar.

If your Hard-drives are set in RAID mode or any other mode you would need to change your CMOS settings and configure them as IDE this can only be done in CMOS and if you want these features to be but back when you install windows XP be sure to boot from the disc and press f3 to install a raid driver

Open the PC and try reseating the memory and processor before condemning the motherboard. Also, as an FSC computer, check the processor is not one of the batch which had the incorrect heat sink fitted - if it is, you will be entitled to a free processor replacement form the FSC helpdesk.

Hello, go to the biostar website and download the drivers, or tell me the exact modell of your motherboard and I will look for your drivers.

What motherboard do you have?

Lagacy board? AM2 Socket? If so it has an AGP slot. Advanced Grapics Port. Go to;  Newegg.com  type in AGP card and you will see lots of hits. Or go to : Tigerdirect.com  I believe that they have a Raydon 9550 on sale right now which is a really good compromise between price and preformance for you present machine. Unfortunately the higher the price the better the card. The amount and type of RAM on the card seems to be the biggest factor.     These are all my thoughts only.    Most gaming machines, now days, use one or more  PCIe16  slots with multiple cards tied together. The AGP proceeded this.

If all the peripherals are working in other machines then it sounds like the chipset or the bios itself would be suspect.

Did anyone Flash the bios with an upgrade?

I have a motherboard that the northbridge is affected. All components seem to work fine except no USB ports or CardBus work.

Had that problem myself today and got it somewhat resolved. You need to install storage controllers on your system. These can be found on the CD provided woth your motherboard or the manufacturer's website.
