Power turns on and off by itself
Your power cable might be a little loose, happens with my TV too.Try to push it in a bit, just a bit.If there is the same problem again, try buying new power cable, and if that does not help, your TV will break soon.

LE26R74BD power board
No, not power board actually..You possibly have bad inverter board (this board is responsible for creating back-light) if this fails your TV black screen,

Remote is dead
Most remotes can be tested and if bad fixed, look if test shows not sending for battery connections, something has been spilled on it or if suspect it was dropped the actual led/s inside that send the signal have come loose from the board where they are soldered in.

Samsung 26 R74BDX
All that is
Hello,
All Plasma and LCD TV have boards that control vertical and horizontal output to their respective areas. They are connected to the screen by ribbon cables. If one of these boards fails all together, has a failed chip, a bad connection, or a bad ground somewhere it will result in a black line in the area of that board. A bad ribbon cable connection on the bottom will result in a vertical black bar though the screen. Many times resetting the connection will fix it, if the ribbon cable has been nicked there could be a severed connection. They an sometimes be fixed, but it is a pain. An yes I have done it, but the bar is gone. The same will happen if the chip that outputs to that area opens. The connectors are the first place to look paying close attention to the cable, they are extremely delicate so great care must be taken if you decide to tinker with em, the usually have lift locks that release them, but it is very easy to wreck em.
Good luck in solving the problem.

Band of dot's(millions) across screen only whilst
I think I have a good idea of what you're experiencing.
Our minds are so set in the low-def mode that when those extra lines are filled in for high-def it looks like a bunch of dots. Notice everything is so much more clear? I thought the same thing when I watched my first blu-ray disc.
Watch something in high-def and then go back to standard immediately after. You'll notice that you can't get near as much detail off of the low-def.
Those dots are your mind trying to put high-def into low def.
Hope this helps; please rate my solution accordingly
Respectfully,
Don

My daughter can't get BBC1, 2 and 3 since 4
When TV channels are moved from one frequency to another frequency that was previously used by a different channel (sorry, but there's no simple way of saying that !) as has happened recently in th UK, some digital TVs and digiboxes struggle to sort the channel list out properly and channels can go missing as you describe.
If your equipment has the option to delete all currently stored channels (normally in the tuning menu options) then do so and then do a full re-tune.
Sometimes, this solves the problem as the equipment is no longer aware of any previous use of a frequency and just loads every channel it finds.
If this doesnt work, or your equipment doesnt have the option, then there is normally the option soemwhere in the menus to retore the item to "factory defaults/configuration". This will clear all previously stored channels and after a full re-tune your missing chanels should be there. However, any other configuration changes you previously made, e.g picture size, output type (RGB/NSCT/etc), etc will be lost and you'll need to set these again.
NB. some regions of the country have lost some channels temporarily now until after the switch over programme completes at the end of 2012. If you visit the Freeview website, this will tell you if your area is affected.

Samsung le26r74bd won't retune digital channels
Updating the Channel List Automatically You can update the channel list when the broadcaster adds new Services or if you move the TV to a new location.
1. Press the MENU button to display the menu. Press the ▲ or ▼ button to select "Digital Menu", then press the ENTER button.
2. Press the ▲ or ▼ button to select "Channel", then press the ENTER button.
3. Press the ENTER button again, to select "Country".
4. Select the appropriate country by pressing the ▲ or ▼ button. Press the ENTER button to confirm your choice. Even though you have changed the country setting in this menu, the country setting for Analogue TV is not changed. (Refer to page 11 of the user guide)
5. Press the ▲ or ▼ button again, to select "Auto Store". Press the ENTER button. When it has finished, the number of scanned services will be displayed. The existing favourite channel list will not be deleted when the channel list is updated. To stop the scan before it has finished, press the ENTER button with "STOP" selected.
6. Press the EXIT button to exit. If the signal status is poor, the "No Service found! Check the aerial connection" message is displayed. Check the aerial connection and the try the procedure again

Cannot get bbc 1 2 3 have retuned several times.
Do you use off-air signals (the bunny ears) or a cable/satellite/fiber-optic box?
With off-air signals, it is most likely that
A. the station is broadcasting 1080i content to a 720p TV or
B. the station in experiencing technical difficulties, is currently unavailable in your area, or is being blocked by a large tree.
Otherwise, this is a problem with your receiver. Check your settings and ensure that the station is currently available in your area.
