Lenovo 3000 C200 Notebook - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Error 0701 usb
Check that you do not have any bent pins in the USB connector. If a USB stick/device is inserted a bad way, then you can bend the pins in the connector.
My c200 is not detecting web cam
Go to CONTROL PANEL, SYSTEM and SECURITY, and select DEVICE MANAGER under SYSTEM options. Go down the list to IMAGING DEVICES and click to see if your webcam is installed with a yellow symbol indicating a problem.
If you have a problem OR if the camera is not there, try reinstalling the Device Driver. Go to your computer manufacturer's web page, identify your system, click support, and device drivers. DOWNLOAD and REINSTALL the device driver for your camera.
If this does not work, you may have a hardware failure and need to replace the camera which is usually very inexpensive. Look for it on eBay rather than the manufacturer's web site.

Lenovo password
I am sorry to tell you, but you are out of luck, unless you are willing to go to extreme measures. Lenovo's are one of the worst when it comes to BIOS passwords because it encrypts the password and stores it within a motherboard storage chip. The only way I have seen to even have a chance of getting around a Lenovo BIOS password is to solder an adapter into the motherboard, connect the adapter to the serial port on a second computer, run a specific piece of software, and then sort through hex codes to seek out the actual password field. I'm not sure where you can get the adapter or software, or how much it costs...I just know that it is not something common and not something that is easily done.
Lenovo bios password
Hi,
I found a homepage with a load of Backdoor passwords, - one of them will bypass you forgotten BIOS password. If you dont know your type, you´ll have to try them all out, or untill you hit the right one:

Lenovo wont power up
Do you have access to a volt-ohm meter? Look at your power supply, it says what the voltage needs to be. Does it have a green led & is it on?To chk using a good meter, dis-connect your power supply from your pc & from the wall plug. If both ends are not connected you will not got shocked if your in your home, sitting down. Turn the meter dial to the "ohm" setting & begin with the R X 1 scale, place the black lead to the outside edge of the cable, place the red lead to the center pin, if the scale meter doesn't move, then try each of the other scales. After you finally got "a reading", do the same to the end that plugs into the wall. They will be different, but you do have to have a reading on both ends, or the power supply is bad. if all is good, (got a reading), plug the power supply back in to the wall & turn the meter to the dc scale & voltage to the 10 to 50 vdc setting. Very cautiously now, place the black lead on the outside edge again, & the red lead to the "tip" of the pin in you pc end of the cable. DO NOT ALLOW the red lead to make contact with the outside edge of the cable or you will short out the power supply! If you have the proper voltage, (usually 16vdc to 20vdc) the power supply is ok & you'll need to take the pc to a competent repair place to get a quote for repair. BE CAREFUL!
Cd/rom not working
rub1 hello,
It seems like a hardware problem with your cd/DVD drive.
I suggest trying to use Windows Update, perhaps there is a driver conflict.
Try to update the drivers on everything, and see if this works.
If not, try rolling back the driver for the drive.
If none of that works, enter the BIOS by pressing F1 when your computer starts (before Windows gets on).
There, check if DVD/CD drive is Enabled or Disabled.
If it is disabled, it might indicate a hardware failure. Then, if warranty is still applicable, I would suggest sending your laptop to a service provider near you.

The reason may be one or more problems acting together. The problem
nowadays is that it is very difficult and time consuming to monitor and
take care of your Lenovo PC. Even experienced users find it hard to
perform such tasks on regular basis because you might need to prepare a
huge amount of time and energy to deal with each issue separately. If you want to fix the problems more efficiently, try the Lenovo speed up program, available here:
