It sounds like you have either an inverter or backlight problem. You will need to remove the casing around the screen to determine which.
I would guess its the inverter. This converts DC power to AC power which powers the backlight. Backlights are probably less likely to fail than inverters. The only real way to check though, is to swap the inverter for a known working one and see if that solves the problem. They are not too expensive.

Hi, the above mentioned Alpha Numericals are Hardware configuration Code. You can check the Exact Model Number of the Computer using the

System Configuration Menu.
Press and Hold Windows Logo Key and R Key, then Type MSINFO32 in the Run Command

Now check the System Model and get back so that we can check for the issue.

Make sure your num lock is light up. There will be a light that will light up. If the num lock is off the 10 key will not work.

Limited connectivity
If you get a 'Limited connectivity" on you wireless connection on your laptop, it means that the wireless card on your laptop probably did not get an IP address from the wireless router.
To fix this problem, right click on the wireless icon on the Task bar and then click Repair.
This will force the wireless router to issue a IP address to the wireless card on the laptop.
