try replacing your ide connector.

They both use the same screen .I do not know but you can check this WEB site to see if these laptops use the same screen. LCD screens and Inverters www.lcdparts.net

There can be a second reason of battery problem but I assure you that if you will clean your fan and heat-sink, you will be relax and I think that you will have to replace a new battery to overcome completely on this issue.Best of Luck

Cloning does not work most of the time for many reasons. Restore from HP cd is not a waste of time.
