Thank you and Good Luck. How to Bypass or Remove a BIOS Password
NOTE: Do not try to guess the password on a passworded Hard Drive. 3 wrongguesses will often result in the information on the hard drive being lostforever.
How to Bypass or Remove aBIOS Password by Removing the CMOS Battery:
The simplest way to remove a BIOS password is to simply remove the CMOSbattery. A computer will remember its settings and keep the time even when itis turned off and unplugged because these parts are powered by small batteryinside the computer called a CMOS battery. If we pull out this battery, thecomputer will forget a lot of its hardware settings, including its BIOSpassword. This should not be performed on Laptops if you are not experiencedworking with laptop hardware.
Anyway, open up the computer case using a screw driver and locate the flat, circular and metallic CMOS battery. Some computers have this part standingupright.
Once you have located it, observe how the latches are holding it. There aremany different ways to remove a CMOS battery.
Make sure to power down the computer, unplug the power cables and unplug anyUSB devices if they are powered. The computer must not be able to get powerfrom anywhere for this to work. Take out the CMOS battery and wait 10 - 25minutes before putting it back in. The reason for this wait is because thecomputer can still store power in its capacitors even though everything isunplugged. The waiting period allows enough time for them to discharge.
Plug everything back in, power up the computer and enter the BIOS again. Ifeverything went well there should be no more password. In some cases, if youget weird error messages during bootup now, you will need to go to "Load BIOSDefaults" in BIOS and save the changes to fix them.
My power won't turn on. The battery and the cable
Check the power adapter with a multi-meter, the voltage of the power plug that plugs into the power socket on the laptop should be slight higher than the voltage that is printed on the label on the adapter.
If it is faulty, there are replacement power supplies available on the Internet or at your friendly computer shop.
If the adapter is OK then the power socket on the laptop is faulty or this socket has a dry solder joint connection on the motherboard.
You can test this by wriggling the power plug when it is connected to the laptop, if the charge LED flickers and if you hold this plug in a certain position the charge LED stays on without flickering, then the power socket is faulty.
This can be repaired, but requires the laptop to be completely
disassembled. I suggest you get a quote first.
